Chapter 4 James pulled his collar higher around his face, trying to block the wind from his cheeks and mouth. It was surprisingly cold on the platform, the wind rushing off the San Francisco Bay, and thick clouds gathering overhead. He had walked out of the house without his gloves, and his fingers felt like they might just turn to ice and snap off. He kept his hands buried in his pockets, but that did nothing to stop the trembling. In fact, nothing could stop the shudders wracking his entire frame.
