Once Upon These Days

Six years ago 'You have a boyfriend?' Logan hissed when he had pulled Bridget away from the dinner table. Bridget looked up at Logan, her green eyes wide with shock. 'Where did you hear that?' 'So it's true?' Logan asked, his dark brown eyes darkening. A rare occurrence, she knew. Bridget rolled her eyes and tried to yank her arms out of Logan's grip. Tried being the operative word. Logan, being the captain of the football team and also being a black belt in karate and taekwondo, had a really strong grip. 'Logan, you're hurting me.' She whispered. 'Just tell me it's not true.' Logan hissed. Bridget pushed him but he didn't even budge. 'Your silence is reassuring.' Logan sneered. 'Oh jeez, Logan. I'm fourteen. What kind of fourteen year olds date?' Bridget scoffed. ‘I don’t have time for it anyway. Harvard’s already calling me,’ she lifted her chin in defiance. Logan raised an eyebrow. Ever the protective older brother, Logan asked what his name was. 'Logan Joseph Cohen the second…if I had a boyfriend, you'd be the first person to know you know that. And besides…I'm still in the girls rule boys drool period of my life. With the exception of Mark of course. But then, we've been friends since we were in diapers so he doesn't count. And of course, everyone in this house. But come on! I hate boys at the moment. You should know that,' Bridget whined. Logan released the grip he had on his baby sister. 'Sorry…it's just that, I heard from Jake Harmon you were dating Scott Dustin.' Logan said in a whisper. 'Scott Dustin? Jake Harmon told you I was dating Scott Dustin? First thing, ew! Next thing, ew! Third thing…Scott Dustin? He's such a sleaze!' Bridget crossed her arms over her chest and put on a perfected frown on her pretty face. Logan let out a sigh of relief. 'Sorry then…I just.' 'And believing Jake Harmon? I mean come on, the guy's like the male version of Dawn Levy!' Bridget exclaimed, naming Fairview High's notorious gossip columnist. 'She's not that bad.' When Logan scratched the back of his neck, Bridget glared at him. 'Hypocritical liar…' Bridget stuck her tongue out at her brother. 'Who's dating whom?' Bridget turned and found Devon, Ethan and Jordan were standing behind her, arms crossed over their chests. 'I'm not dating anyone.' Bridget shrugged, shooting daggers at Logan. 'I'm not dating anyone either!' Logan clarified when his three older brothers looked at him with wide eyes. 'Logan thought that I was dating Scott Dustin just because Jake Harmon said so.' Bridget said after a moment's silence. The incredulous looks on the older three Cohens changed into identical sarcastic looks. Eyebrows raised and a tiny smirk on the left corner of their lips. They had all three shifted their weight on their left leg. It was freaky sometimes but at the moment, Bridget did the same thing and looked at Logan. 'I already told you…ew.' End of Flashback Bridget snapped out of her daydream when someone shouted her name. At least, her last name. 'Cohen! Class is over!' She found that the revelation was true and she dreamily stuffed her laptop in her sling bag and walked out of the class. The moment she stepped out of her Psychology class, she bumped into someone and she fell down, luckily her bag fell on top of her. Unfortunately, it landed on her head. 'Oh s**t…I am so sorry. I am so, so sorry.' Bridget sighed as she got hauled up to her feet. Her face and butt hurt like hell. When she tried to open her eyes, all she could see was stars. The next thing she knew, everything was black.
