Ophelia’s POV: I looked up at the grandfather clock in the corner of the hallway. It was nine pm. Damon was late. He had promised—or at least, he had stated—that he would be home early tonight. We were supposed to continue the discussion, to map out how we’d be dealing with Marino and Margot. They were currently halfway across the world, supposedly on a holiday on Borealis Island. I leaned against the doorframe, my mind spinning. Marino was high up in the hierarchy of the Bratva, was he not? It felt impossible that he wasn’t aware of the full scope of what had happened with Raymond yet. Was he truly in the dark? I sighed, pushing myself off the edge of the bed where I had been hovering.
