WHEN Weng just entered Mrs. Landrake’s house, she hurried up going to her room. She did not want to glance at him again because of what happened to them inside the carriage. She did not notice the old lady, who also hurriedly greeted them until she got inside her room and locked the door.
As she leaned the back door, she suddenly stopped and think. She gently touched her lips on her fingers as she thoughts of Kairo, who gave her a tender kiss. She even still felt his lips pressed against her as she thought of that scene, and her whole being trembled. What magic did you use on me, Kairo? Why am I like this? Am I into a curse? She was shaken, walked quickly to her bed, sat there, and then…suddenly smiled. If someone will saw her in that situation, maybe it would think she might be insane. And yes! She would be. On the other side, she feels strange. Why do I seem to like that kiss? That's how it feels when you've experienced the first kiss with him? My God! Why do I want more? Why do I miss it? She doesn’t even understand about herself after that kissing scene.
She stood up, quickly walked out of her room, and went to the room where the young man was. She knocked on the door thrice and turned the doorknob. Was it open? She slowly opens the door wide and entered. Her eyes searched for the young man, and she found him near in his bed.
The young man immediately frowned at her when he saw her striding towards him. There was her nervousness in her chest again, but at that moment, it was not the same as before. Now, no sign of emotion draws on his face as she got closer to him.
When she stopped striding, there was almost no space between themselves, staring at his golden eyes that even more vibrant and remembered the old lady said to her that she never saw what Kairo's eyes would be. She was the lucky one who saw it, or does she? Well, she never asks his soldiers about that strange thing.
"Why are you here?" in his cold voice.
"I⸻I just want to—know and ask questions," she said thoughtfully.
"I told you if you're—"
She did not hesitate anymore, moved quickly, and then she kissed him. Yes, and she did that thing to reassure herself about their real relationship. She reaches him up a little and wrapped his arms around his neck. The young man's lips were so soft that she could not resist him off and took her lips away from him. Kissing him is just like she feels comfortable, all-out free, and remains no worries. She felt the young man embrace her tightly as she felt every sensation enliven her personality.
She moves her lips while Kairo granted everything she does. She just felt her back reach the soft bed while continued doing that kiss together. It was only then that she realized that the young man was topless when she touches his back. She didn't even notice it earlier because she was busy staring into its golded eyes. But she doesn't care anymore, even if she is swept away by his rage. After a while, the young man parted slightly from her lips even though she did not want to.
Only then did they notice the lightning of the necklace again, and then the young man caressed her gentle face. It was only then that she saw such an expression on his face as if he was being cautious as taking care of her.
"Kairo..." she uttered.
Kairo’s hand reached her hair to caress it as if it had just done that thing before.
"Am I the only one...seeing your golden eyes? W-what is the connection between the two of us in this necklace? Why is it gleaming every time we are closer to each other?" she began to ask him again.
The young man stopped what he was doing and then stared at her glimpse again. He does that every time she has a question and reads her facial expression. This time, Kairo kissed her again and made her feelings into lunacy. She remembered now that every time she has another question to ask, he would do it again and again. Madness with every sensation brings her as a woman who seems to have been longing for someone with her.
A few more minutes passed, Kairo suddenly got off away from her. She saw his wrinkled forehead, and the change in his facial expression seems to wonder again. He stood up from the bed they had lying together. She was also wondering what would be mean.
"Get out from my room," he said.
"Huh?!"
"I said, get out of my room!" His voice gets rough, and he seems annoyed.
"But—Kairo—"
"I said, get out!"
She had no longer insisted on asking him why and, getting up quickly from the bed, fixes herself before she runs out of the young man's room. She did not know how to accept the embarrassment gained from him due to his ever-changing mode and could not understand the young man's behavior at that point. She immediately entered her room and poured all her emotions there.
IN Kairo’s room, he vigorously beat the wall. The part cracked caused by a hit of his palm as he restrained himself from what had happened between them and Weng. He later removed his palm from the wall, went to the bathroom, and released his fretful emotion.
IN THE EVENING, Kairo's group had dinner, and only Weng was not at the dining table. Kristoff noticed that immediately and asked Mrs. Landrake.
"Where’s Miss Weng, Mrs. Landrake? She hasn't been down since earlier," the young man asked.
"She will not be having her dinner today, and she is still full. She just asked for milk earlier and wants to get rest," Mrs. Landrake replied.
"Is that so?" Kristoff sat down.
"She also doesn't have eaten her lunch, or she might just avoid eating venison meat," Jigger said.
They laughed except Kairo, Hander, and Kristoff.
"It's not funny," Kristoff said.
They were all sitting at the dinner table while Mrs. Landrake was preparing their food.
"If you want, you can cook her a native chicken. I saw Mrs. Landrake's chickens in the backyard of her house." Jigger continued teasing.
"Or give him a damn snake!" Thiara laughed with Jigger.
"Mrs. Landrake, can we ensnare some of your chicken?" Hander asked.
Everyone looked at Hander while Thiara was dumbfounded.
"It's okay. What are you going to do with the chicken?" Mrs. Landrake asked Hander.
"Thank you." Hander did not respond to Mrs. Landrake then stood up and walked out of the dining area.
Kristoff also stood up and followed his comrade Hander heading towards the backyard where the fresh native chicken was. When they arrive there, a large number of native chickens meet them with their c**k-a-doodle-doo.
Are we possibly can get some of these chicken? I am hoping they won’t fly."
"Do you have a plan yet?" Hander asked Kristoff.
"Yes. And this is my plan."
Hander was surprised to see Kristoff holding the bow and arrow. "That's what you're going to do? What do you think of the chickens? Wild boar?"
Kristoff lowered he handled. "Why? What are your plans? They will fly when we force them to catch them up. Or else we need to catch them in a trap."
"We will go through a bloody battle." Kristoff pulled his sword from his waist right side where it was hanging.
Kristoff saw the sharp sword that Hander had drawn. "A-are you sure what you're going to do? I imagined this would not be a good idea."
"Yes. So here I am, chickens!!" Hander raised his hand with a weapon and then rushed to a large group of chickens.
"Hey!!" Kristoff shouted to stop his comrade Hander.
It looks like the two young men are fought inside against the vast chicken coop. After a while, Hander and Kristoff's faces are no emotions shown off. They have a few chicken feathers on their hair.
"I don't want to be a chicken hunter." Hander blew his hair with the chicken feathers hanging.
Later that feather flew and passed Kristoff's face. The young man's eyes followed it until it drops to his nose. He sneezes.
"Disgusting!" Hander said to Kristoff when he sneezed nearly to him.
"I'm allergic to feathers. Let's go and cook these chicken we caught."
"Better."
Simultaneously, the two turned around carrying the poor chickens and then came out of the chicken coop.
THE TWO YOUNG MEN reckoned in the kitchen as they laid the two dead chickens on the big table.
"The water is already boiling, and you can put it there to soften its skin so the feathers may remove purposely quick. What will your menu for the chicken?" Mr. Landrake asked and already there as well.
"Earlier, Hander and I were thinking about what kind of menu we would make with the chickens. We want to get those that will suit her taste," Kristoff replied.
"Where did Miss Weng came from?" Mrs. Landrake asked them.
The two young men looked at each other as they did not know where Weng came from and what the woman's role part in their group. Kairo wouldn’t let the couple knew because of Miss Weng’s safety.
Hander explained. “Weng is from another country, in a faraway land. She does not eat venison meat because she is not used to it."
"Ah... I know a dish that can make with chicken, but I can't remember. Hmm…" Mrs. Landrake thought about the recipe she knew.
Almost all of them wonder what the chicken will be cook for Weng that will taste good. Sometime later, a familiar voice spoke.
"Chicken tinola and chicken adobo. That's the recipe you cook for her."
They turned their head to glance at the familiar voice comes from behind.
"Master Kairo! It's you." Mrs. Landrake exclaimed. "I remember now. Chicken adobo is popular in Spain or better known as marinated chicken. But chicken⸻tinola, I do not know how to cook it."
"I will teach you just to prepare all the ingredients we need." Kairo's in his serious face, and he commanded everyone.
Everyone seems to be hurriedly and followed what Kairo taught them. Occasionally, immortals like him drop by the places and countries they want. They interact and pretend to travel also to learn the culture of the people living in the world.
IN WENG’S BEDROOM, She was lying down while still thinking about what happened between him and Kairo earlier. She thought she looked like a dirty woman whom the young man had thrown away and felt disgusting. She feels pain on her part because that was the first time someone had rejected her. But on the one hand, it was also her fault. She went to his room and asked him again to feel his warm, passionate kiss. As the quote once said, if a rice grain approaches the chicken, it will beak it. If only I weren't stubborn and went with my emotions' flows, it won’t happen. I gave him the benefits of the doubts, and when I was into temptation, I sent in my feelings drowned. Then I cried now because I realized that it was a damn shamed! What are you doing to yourself, Weng?
She scolded herself. But she should not yell at me and be outcasted. I want to know something about the two of us. I want to know my connection to this necklace and why it shines every time we get close, especially that passionate kiss. Are we destined for each other? Could that not be one of the reasons? Hey, whatever! He is getting into my nerves, and I will be insane—such a terrible fate! She turned her body position to the left side while lying down. Later she only heard her stomach growl. I'm hungry. I just asked for milk from Mrs. Landrake earlier. I don't want to eat meat deer. The poor little red meat deer, I will be the one to make sorry for being endangered.
