"It's ... you," she said calmly.
"Go back inside and rest," he told her.
"I can't sleep. I'm new to the climate, and the environment changes."
"Don't even think about what Thiara said earlier."
She was dumbfounded. She did not expect the young man said that about the young lady warrior. Later it quickly approached her using its ability to accelerate motion. Now she was facing the young man on the balcony.
"Even if you don't tell me, you're still thinking about her, and you're upset about that." It turned to what she was looking at earlier. "Thiara is known for being vulgar when it comes to any conversation or even in arguments. My warriors are get used to her behavior because we spend a lot of time with her. Vinity sent her to help us on our mission. She will be our accompany later on."
She turned her glimpse in another direction. "It's not my fault for what happened to Hander. Maybe I have the right to defend by them because I also hold your stone crystal. Of course, you are already there to save me. The only thing I can't understand is why she treats me unlikely. I do not understand the people who live in this era. Are they not into friendship?"
"I don't want to tell you this because I do not want to interfere in anyone's personal life and feelings. Thiara has a long fondness for Hander. But Hander is not like others who overcome emotions when it comes to heart feelings. He is determined to serve me, but I do not force them not to marry. That is their decision," the young man explained.
"Is that so?" She barely thought. "Do you... Do immortal people like you also have their own families? I mean—do you have a girlfriend or even a wife? I-I just thought. Please don't be mean," she asked. Those questions just went through her mind and not intentionally. Not intentionally?
"No. Those who care for the balance of the world cannot be married to someone else. Nor can we have a relationship with our peers. We lived in this world for the mission of taking care of humanity and not to have a family of our own."
"So? Are you not allowed? What if you also need someone to replace you in the future? What if—"
"We are immortal. We live even a few thousand years and beyond life."
"But...what about the situation right now? You should get married because⸻because you don't know what will happen."
The young man faced her. "You. Why didn't you get married when you were still in your old life? Why did you let the time passed to find someone to be within your entire life?" he returned the question to her again.
She glanced at him then focused his gaze on golden eyes. She knew the young man asked her seriously. "Because⸻Uhm⸻Marriage was not my priority then. First, I studied and worked hard for my family to give them the best future. I am the eldest, and I have to do that. When my parents are both died, I am the one who took their responsibilities. I have nieces and nephews who still need my help, so I am determined to go back. And one more thing, at that time, I have not found the man I want to be with for the rest of my life. I have a sort of suitor, but no one of them I had like."
"Same."
"Huh?" She scowled. "You also have siblings and nieces or nephews? Where are they?"
"You're naughty on asking me too many questions again, woman. I don't have families like you." It slowly turned away. "Take a rest," then he walked back.
"I have many questions to ask you but, you explained it well. Hey, wait!"
Kairo stopped walking through but did not take a glance back at her. He just stayed in his place while waiting for what she would say next. The cold air also blew around them.
"You haven't answered my question before," she dared to be open with him.
"Would you like to know?"
"Y-yes. If you will."
It took a deep breath and said, "I still haven't found the right woman until this time. And that is impossible to happen. Take a rest now, and if I see you staying here again outside, I will not save you next time you will be in peril," he said sarcastically.
"Huh?!"
After a while, it suddenly disappeared from her sight. "Wait!" She scratched her head. "Is that a threat? But I am not threatened. Somebody shouldn't ignore me. I was the one holding your necklace, and no matter what happened, you have to save me," she murmured. She was just about to walk back into her room again.
MEANWHILE, as Kairo lay on the soft bed, he thought of the woman's last said. He remembers when he was a little, and he was with the creator. It taught him many things about his mission in life. It is all about the woman who is destined to him and live with her in the future.
Flashback
They are in the vast garden with him, the most powerful creature in the world. Standing on that vast land has a palace where the creator lives. It was a Divine Dimension, which is called Heaven Dimension. It is full of beautiful scenery around and a cozy atmosphere like heaven most people know.
"My Lord, what does marriage mean?" he asked the creator. He was only ten years old by then.
The creator touched her shoulder as she walked. "Why did you ask that, Kairo?" on his cold and masculine voice.
"I just thought. I have both parents, but my father is no longer exists. My mother told me he is a brave warrior. If I am the one you assigned to balance the time and space of mortals, can I also have a wife? "
"Do you want to get married?"
"I do not know. But in my mother's situation, I do not want to try. It is regrettable to be alone like her, but I see her pleasure every time she sees me. I may also experience being sad, I guess," he looked up at the creator.
"Marriage is performed by mortals, especially by two people in love. I give it to those who are with their destiny. Immortals like us do not just have a companion in life. But things may be different. Just like your mother, who loved to a fearless warrior."
"Ah... I understand that." He held the hand of the creator.
"In the dimensional world, you can't love each other, but you can have a life partner at the right time."
"What do you mean?"
They stopped walking, and the creator turned to him. He stared into his eyes and his gentle face. He has long white hair, a long white dress, and has a charming smile. It fixed his hair that had been parted earlier by the swayed air surrounding. He was waiting for what it would say to him next.
"You can't have premonitions or see your future destiny using your ability. It will come at an unexpected time. You can see others' fate, but you can't see yours. That is what I set. You will only know that your future has started when someone notices your golden eyes."
"That's also what my mother told me. Who is this woman?" he asked emphatically.
"Like I said, in time, you will get to know her."
He did not ask again and just thought about what the creator said.
Kairo wiped his entire face when he remembered that. He could not believe what his creator had said was right, and it could have been the woman in the other room who was referring to him. But it is still a big question to him why the creator set such a mortal maiden. How can that be a mortal like her will be my destiny? What would be your real plan, my Lord? I really couldn't understand until right now. He wanted to close his eyes and rest his mind on those who were bothering him.
MEANWHILE, Hander was on the veranda and looked deeply into the 5mansion's expansive backyard where they stayed as Thiara approached the young man's direction.
"It was a cold night when the last time we have met here. Are you okay?" Thiara asked him.
"I'm fine." He didn't take a glance at the woman.
"It was that woman's fault. If you hadn't ⸻"
"Thiara!" He interrupted what the girl was saying. He looks at her thoughtfully. "You should not blame Miss Weng for what happened to us earlier. It was not her fault that Hyperion's men would chase us into the middle of that forest. Stop teasing him if you do not want me to send you home to Vinity," he said firmly.
"What? Do you hear yourself? Am I the one who still blamed here? What's with that woman? The stone crystal on her neck? How did her destiny put her there even though she did not know how to defend herself?"
"That is why we are here to protect her and help Master Kairo in their mission. Is that hard to understand?"
"Do you like her?" she directly asked him.
He looked at her badly. "I don't know what's going on in your mind." He crosses his arms to his chest. g"What if I like her?" he seemed to be teasing the woman.
The woman frowned and then stared at him. "The skin will mix with the peel." It turned around and then marched back inside.
He didn't even smile, but at that moment, he did. He just wanted to tease the woman at that point to stop her. Later, the young man stayed there for a while.
On Hyperion's realm, meanwhile angrily confronted his warrior General Uhrim who had lost in the battle. He sustained severe injuries to his body, but Hyperion had no intention of treating him.
"Fools!" The ligaments in its neck have come out. "You haven't knocked them down yet? What kind of general are you? You put your warriors in jeopardy!"
"Master… I never thought Kairo Middlestone would be so strong, even though he no longer has his stone crystal. I could beat him but, he is too wise." He was held on the bloody side as he faced Hyperion.
"Presumption? Presumption of being a fool! I already gave you enough black power to defeat that stupid Kairo, but you still haven't done it? What do you want? Do you want me to end your life right now?"
"Master!" He kneeled. "I beg you. G-give me another chance! I assure you that in our next battle, I will finish him." His face showed a plea for Hyperion.
He approached his begging general. "I am kind to those who ask my pity, General Uhrim. Stand up, my warrior." He came close and helped him. "I'm not that too evil, and I will still give you another chance."
"Thank you very much, Lord Hyperion. It is a great honor for me."
"Of course. It is also an honor that ⸻YOU WILL DIE IN MY HAND!"
"Ugggghh!" General Uhrim was shocked.
A sharp object pricked to Uhrim's stomach from Hyperion's hand. He formed a dagger that became wicked to end his warrior's life. He did not want to take care of people who were also useless to him. He later pushed it to pull the dagger in Uhrim's stomach as Uhrim's felt the pain of being stabbed in it.
Uhrim took a few steps back as the blood flowing from his open wound, then he fell down and eventually lost his life. Its red liquid spilled on the floor while its comrades did nothing but feel scare of their Lord.
"Take him out of my sight! And also, all of you, get out of my sight if you do not want to follow him to death!" he shouted.
Hyperion's men struggled to keep General Uhrim's dead body. He walked towards the other door and clasped his hands with anger.
A hunchback slave followed him and gave him a glass of wine and handed it to him. "Master…"
He handed it. "Go away, Ellio. I want to be alone," he said calmly for the first time.
"Yes, my Lord." He bowed to him at the same time.
When his slave came out, he rubbed his forehead and sat on the couch there. "Kairo… You are lucky now because you defeated my staff. The next time we meet, I will finish you. You will fall from my bare hands." He sipped the last remaining wine.
