Chapter 29 The next morning, Kaylee watched Jules drain his coffee like he was inhaling it. “Long night?” she asked sullenly. He nodded. “Stayed late after the meeting.” “Why?” “To discuss an investment opportunity with a buddy of mine. I need more coffee. Be right back.” His phone buzzed at almost the same time the door clicked shut. Since he’d left it right beside his keyboard, all she had to do was stand up to see the screen.
