Dhruv's POV
I pull the sheets over her body and she sinks comfortably in my arms.
She must have lost some weight, she was lighter to carry till the bedroom this time.
I kiss her on the side of her head and wrap my arms around her.
I have changed her clothes, to a lot of comfortable ones, 'my T-shirt' and am sleeping in my shorts. I also braid her classic length hair so that it won't tangle the next day when she wakes up, hope she likes it.
I caress her soft cheeks and am admiring how perfectly she fits in my arms. Her wheatish complexion against my fair skin is making me think about cappuccino with whipped cream, the perfect combination.
*chuckles*
I sound so childish right now, maybe it's cause I can't stop thinking about her. But her recent activity is making me feel worried, I hope things are good with her work and stuff, and I hope she opens up more to me regarding her problems.
No sooner I was about to close my eyes and be lost in the world of dreams than I hear that irritating ringtone of my smartphone who is not smart enough to shut its mouth at such times!
Ugh!
Who am I kidding?
Placing Swati gently on the fluffy pillow from my sturdy biceps I slide down the bed and acknowledge my call.
It's from the doc, breathing out a huge sign to reveal my unsteady thoughts I receive her call.
" Hellow doc."
I say in a low voice gazing at Swati's sleeping figure.
"Hey Dhruv, how is Swati?
Did you give her the medicine?"
She asks in her professional tone with a hint of a friendly accent in it.
"Yeah, I mixed the medicine in her food."
I say walking out of the room to fetch some water.
"Okay good, I have mailed you the reposts and things you need to note down, so take care you keep track of her health and give me a regular update about it, okay?"
She says over the phone,
"Okay, Thankyou doc for cooperating, I can do anything you want except being her to the clinic."
There is a movement of silence this time and after seconds passing, I break it by saying,
"What is it doc? Everything ok?"
"Well yeah but Dhruv you must know how our branch handles our patients.
We need to see them and talk to them, Though I am trying my best to medicate her from afar but there are some needs you must provide!"
"Like what doc? Just name it and I will take care of it, or send it to you."
I say in a firm voice making her tch her tongue.
"Okay, firstly I want to warn you that things will go really out of hand if you want to try doing this without her notice!
And without expert advice."
She says in a worried voice and I gulp down the entire glass of cold water in one go.
Placing the glass on the table with a small cling and I firmly say.
"I can even jump off a five-storied building for her doc, I want her cured, that's all I know."
I hear her sigh over the call and finally coming to an agreement she says
"Okay, fine I will do my best to treat her without her in my clinic but you need to inform me about her every muscle movement, okay?"
She asks again trying to confirm my answer.
I nod in affirmation knowing the fact that she can't see it and let out a firm hmm making her continue her talk.
"I need her blood sample, and make sure you get it before she eats anything, or at least with six hours of time gap from her meal."
That's simple, she rarely eats anything to maintain her figure, I guess I can handle that.
"A small sample is fine right? Like there are no conditions regarding some ml or something right?"
I inquire again and she says.
" yea, just a small sample with about two ml is fine. I need to customize her medicine."
"Okay doc, I will take care of it, I will send you the sample in two days."
"Okay, make sure you call me again when there is fluctuation in her condition."
"Okay, bye doc."
"Bye."
I release a locked breath and walk towards the room again.
I see Swati has kicked off her blanket and is scratching her stomach with drool at the corner of her lips.
So cute.
My heavenly angel is sleeping peacefully.
I gently slip in the blanket placing her on my biceps and she hugs me in her sleep.
I would like to get tortured like this for life.
Closing my eyes in her embrace I escape from this reality to the world of dreams blended in her soothing scent.

Swati's POV
Pressing the breaks gently I pause in front of the most unexpected building.
The Mansion.
I dont know how I ended up here but I made my PA attend me straight at the company, told Dhruv I will drive myself, and ended up coming here.
Twisting the car keys I walk out of my Jaguar and push my blue-tinted Ray-bans over my head.
Thanks to Dhruv's efforts, my straight hair has turned wavy cause of his uneven braiding.
It's so difficult to straighten them again.
Ugh! Nancy is gonna kill me. Anyway,
I pad towards the mansion gate that has a variety of wild plants grown all over it. The compound wall has developed a greeny patch and so has the mansion walls,
The wood has turned kinda moldy but still, it feels mesmerizing to me.
Was it the same before?
Now that I think about it I never noticed its salient features and distinct carving before. All I was worried about was the shoot at that time.
I am about to step forward when I hear a weak cough from behind me. I turn around and see a petite old lady draped in an old cotton saree standing behind me. She holds a soothing smile and has a big dot of vermilion on her forehead which is clouded with those messy grey hair tied in a bun.
She smiles at me and says.
"What brings you here my child?"
"Ajji I wanted to see the mansion that's all."
I reply in a warm tone as she seems friendly. With the look of hers, I was expecting her tone to be rather creepy but she seems really nice.
(Ajji- granny)
"Oh is it, I have the mansion keys, take a look, here have the keys."
She says handing over the keys to me and I beam with a wholehearted smile.
Ajji accompanies me inside the mansion and we walk through the dusty corridors of it, she tells me different folk tales and about her family and how maintaining the mansion has passed down in her family for ages.
Though the mansion is not 'that' maintained since she is too old to handle it and her kids have migrated elsewhere in search of jobs.
I pause in front of a family portrait hung in one of the huge rooms.
The pigments are still intact with some ruptures to the canvas here and there, the play of light and shadow and the impression of 3d is well defined in the painting.
Being an art lover and a painter myself I feel attracted to it the movement my eyes land on it.
"It's the photo of the royal family that lived here putta." ( putta - dear.)
She says in her shaky voice and I nod in affirmation.
The portrait contains a couple sitting on the couch and two girls sitting with them on either side.
Three boys are standing behind the couch holding swords in their hands.
The jewelry and their clothes seem no joke to me, their fair complexion and glowing skin with a rich background speak about how wealthy of a family this must have been.
"Ajji who takes care of this mansion now, like is it a government property?"
I ask trying to gain some information.
"No putta, there were some government officials who would come here and wanted to list this mansion under ancient buildings but the owner of this mansion rejected it straight away saying he wanted to preserve it.
*chuckles* but look at the irony he doesn't even send me ample amount of money to clean this area. He must be thinking of selling the mansion.
I mean selling the government would also be a good choice but he might end up getting handsome payment if he sold it to some builder who might convert this mansion into a hotel or something."
She says sighing at her own words. It's impressive to see how much she knows about how the government and the world work despite being her age.
I guess that's how struggle goes for the poor, they need to know every nook and corner of the world to keep them alive!
Thinking through her words remind me.
She mentioned the owner might sell it,
Should I just buy this place? It hurts me to see how unwell this place is kept, maybe later I will hand over this mansion to the government or something under UNESCO World Heritage Site.
"Ajji do you have the phone number of the owner or something? "
I ask out of curiosity, I ll just keep the cell number for now.
"Of course ammu, I have kept a card of the owner which he handed me.
He lives in Dubai now. I will surely give you the card."
She says walking towards the entrance and I follow her slowly matching her pace.
(Ammu - a word referring to young girls./ sweet.)
Opening the almost broken concrete door she reveals her one-room house made of steel sheets. Her hut stands tall at the right of the mansion overlooking the main gate.
Seconds later Ajji walks out of her hut and hands me a tiny white card which says Raj Agarwal traders.
Must be the owner's name.
While I evaluate the card at hand Ajji speaks to me.
" He is the heir of that royal family, he is a big officer now and lives in Dubai."
"Oo " I reply with a small smile on my face.
My expressions change with hers as soon as her bright face turns pale and more serious.
"What is it Ajji?"
I question unable to hold back my curiosity.
" I can't tell anyone this, but you look like a goddess and a kind girl, so I can't hold back my words anymore."
She says in a worried manner lowering her tone with each word she utters.
"Yes ajji, say it."
I say nodding positively.
"I dont know if it's true or not, but there is a rumor that the mansion has a melancholic soul that is waiting for its love."
"Love? A soul?"
I ask again just to get clarified. Looking here and there and after examining the barren road she finally looks at me and says.
"There was a huge tragedy in this mansion about five hundred years ago.
It is said that the person who died fighting for his love is still there in this mansion waiting for her to reincarnate and reclaim his love.
I dont believe it and have never heard anything unusual from the mansion but I think you must know about it."
She says with an innocent smile which I later reciprocate.
"Don't worry ajji I will clean the mansion in every aspect before purchasing it."
I say with a small wink at the end.
She erupts in laughter and so do I.
I dont believe in ghosts either, but if someone is waiting for his love, I wish he finds her sooner.
I think to myself gazing at this huge beauty.
