Lily regretted everything the moment she stepped into Westwood High.
The hallways were loud.
Too loud.
Lockers slammed shut while students crowded every corner laughing, talking, and moving around like they’d all known each other forever.
Meanwhile, Lily stood near the entrance clutching her schedule like it might save her life.
New school anxiety officially activated.
“Okay,” she whispered to herself nervously. “You can survive one day.” . unfortunately she bumped into a tall blond messy look hair guy.
"Hey watch it."
Lily turned sharply.
"so sorry, as she picked her books from the floor looking up he is Noah. he leaned against the wall beside her like he’d appeared out of nowhere.
Black hoodie.
Messy dark hair.
Annoyingly confident smirk.
Unfortunately… still attractive.
Lily frowned surprised to see the same guy from the window last night.
"Really. I guess you lack some sense of humor and tolerance.
"What"?
"hey!."Don't be little fussy." it's your first day okay."
He gasped in a short while "are you the new girl from the window who sneaked on me last night."
Lily was calm for a while, feeling guilty for the harsh words."
"yes. I know. you should have just gone inside then."
folding her hand as she raised her left eyebrow
"wow. nice to meet you"
She rolled her eyes feeling so guilty that Noah is becoming gentle.
"Nice to meet you too.
“You must be the new neighbor.”
“Yeah. Lily.” he replied. before he could finish up.
Lily introduced carefully.
"And you are noah." She called his name immediately. and how do you know my name." This time she is not able to move.
Noah glanced down at the paper in her hands.
"Yeah. feeling tired when packing boxes."
“Need help?” He collected some paper from Lily's hands.
"Thank you."
“I can read a schedule.” I am almost late to my class
“Sure,” he said easily. “But judging by the panic in your eyes, I’m guessing you have no idea where chemistry is.”
“I am not panicking.”
“And you’re gripping that paper like it personally offended you.”
Before Lily could argue, someone suddenly slammed into Noah from behind.
“Bro!”
A tall blond boy grinned widely.
Jason Reed.
Basketball player. Professional chaos creator.
Jason looked between Noah and Lily immediately.
"wassup now. Noah said immediately as they both shake hands together
"I am fine bro."
"You are on time today." Jason asked curiously like he want to know the reason that explains why Noah actually showed up early today.”
Noah looked unimpressed. “You remember Chemistry on Mondays."
"Bro I am actually late for class.
Jason ignored him completely and turned toward Lily with a charming smile. They both walked together
“You must be the new neighbor Lily?"
“Lily,” she introduced carefully.
"Yes.
Jason grabbed his chest. “And she’s pretty too? Noah never stood a chance.”
“Jason,” Noah warned.
Lily tried not to laugh.
Tried.
Failed.
she noticed instantly. Noah could have told Jason yesterday.
Again.
Why did his friend Jason noticed her?
“Wow,” Jason gasped.
“You made her laugh. This is serious.”Alright please stop talking,” Noah muttered.
Before Jason could continue embarrassing everyone alive, the warning bell rang loudly through the hallway.
Students immediately rushed past them.
Noah glanced at Lily’s schedule again.
“You have English After lunch time period.” lunch time period is 12: 30 pm- 1:30 pm
“So?”
“So do I.”
Lily narrowed her eyes suspiciously. "And How do you know?.
Noah held up his own schedule casually.
"Same class.
English: 2:30 pm
Great.
Absolutely fantastic.
“You look disappointed,” he said.
Lily still surprised about everything.
“You stay next door to me. Peace was never an option.” Lily said aggressively, but light mood.
Jason burst out laughing again.
As the three of them started walking down the hallway, whispers slowly began spreading around them.
People stared openly at Noah.
At Lily.
At them together.
Lily noticed immediately.
And apparently Noah did too.
“Ignore them,” he said quietly beside her.
She looked at him strangely. “Ignore who?”
“The people staring.”
“Why are they staring?”
Noah hesitated slightly.
That tiny pause was enough to make her suspicious.
Before she could ask again, a girl suddenly stepped directly into their path.
Beautiful blonde hair.
Perfect makeup.
Cold expression.
Chloe Bennett.
Her eyes landed on Lily first.
Then shifted slowly toward Noah.
“Well,” Chloe said smoothly, “this is new.”
The atmosphere changed instantly.
Even Jason looked uncomfortable.
Noah’s jaw tightened slightly. “Morning, Chloe.”
Her gaze returned to Lily.
“You’re the new girl.”
It wasn’t a question.
Lily nodded carefully.
Chloe smiled.
But it wasn’t a friendly smile.
“Cute,” she said softly. “Just a little advice?”
Lily stayed silent.
Chloe stepped closer.
“Don’t get too attached to Noah Carter.”
Noah sighed heavily. “Chloe—”
“I’m serious,” Chloe continued, eyes locked on Lily. “He’s trouble.”
For the first time since meeting Noah, Lily saw something dangerous flicker behind that calm expression.
“Enough.”
The single word came out sharp enough to silence everyone.
Chloe stared at him for a moment before forcing another fake smile.
“See you around.”
Then she walked away.
The second she disappeared into the crowd, Lily exhaled slowly.
“What,” she asked carefully, “was that?”
Jason looked like he wanted to disappear.
Noah shoved his hands into his hoodie pockets.
”Welcome to Westwood college."
Jason said. a disgusting look on his face.
