The problem with people noticing things was that people talked.
A lot.
And apparently—
Westbridge High had collectively decided that Noah carter and Lily Morgan were now the most interesting topic available.
Which was unfortunate.
Because Lily valued peace.
And privacy.
And not having random sophomores smile knowingly at her in hallways.
"You've become school news," Emily informed her helpfully the next morning.
"I want a refund."
"You can't refund popularity."
"This isn't popularity. It's public humiliation."
Emily laughed.
"Same thing."
Lily adjusted her backpack while walking toward her locker.
Unfortunately—
Emily wasn't exaggerating.
Because halfway down the hallway—
two students Lily had never spoken to looked at her.
