ONCE AGAIN, WE assembled in the large conference room upstairs. The sheriff and Captain Bridges were there, and my entire team had been invited to attend. The sheriff took the microphone and announced that his major case group had developed information that had, in addition to solving the Riverplace Tower murder, provided information on seventy-three murders around the country, some of which dated back ten years.
“We have passed this information along to the various law enforcement departments involved, and we’ve given our entire file to the FBI,” the sheriff said. “As of a couple hours ago, we’ve learned that there have already been arrests in ten of the cases, including the ones in Jacksonville and St. Augustine.”
He introduced Captain Bridges, who said a
