“I was almost losing my mind trying to reach you, you know” she said again, pulling away from the hug to look at me. She had worry in her eyes, but at the same time relief, she did care about me.
“I’m really sorry” I said holding her hands. There’s was no explanation for what happened because it was out of our control, and neither of us had a choice but to accept it
“I just hope it’s different this time around, you are almost due and I do not wish to miss that for anything in the world” she added meaning every word. It would be the scariest event of my life if she’s not there by my side.
“So what changed? All of a sudden a car is parked outside the convent, asking us to come with. I’m happy I decided not to go any longer, I would have missed the trip” she said, causing me to smile.
