[Meanwhile, on the other side of the city, lives Sarah and her little brother Kennis. Sarah and Kennis grew up in an unfortunate life where they lost all their parents at an early age. They moved into the country in search of a better life. When they arrived, their father got a massive job opportunity in one of the neighbouring countries and fled without notice and escaped from his family to begin a new life. Sarah, Keniis and their mother had to fight all odds to survive. Eventually, their mother died due to high blood pressure... leaving them no where to go, they ended up joining the other kids on the streets. Sarah: hey wake up little bro. Kennis: why always early Sarah? It's too early, just 10 more minutes. Sarah: the sun is out little bro, its almost 11:00. Wake up, there's some water in the bottle to rinse your face. Kennis: alright alright, but where are you going? Sarah: i need to go see if the man that runs the dance studio is there so i can try convincing him to join his team and eventually be part of their stage performances, so we can get a little money out of it. Kennis: okay OK, can I come with you? Sarah: No you stay back and watch over our staff. We don't want them stolen again. Do you want that? Kennis: No. Sarah: there's some left over bread, have breakfast. Kennis: it's still the same as yesterday. You didn't eat. I know it's little but we can share. Sarah: it wont be enough for you if we share it. You eat, I will be fine. Kennis: you always do this, then I won't eat it. Sarah: don't you want to grow up and become a big, strong president? Kennis: Yes I do, Sarah: then you should eat, otherwise you wont grow. Kennis: okay fine, i will change the country, you know. Sarah: good, I know... I have to go now. I will be back soon. [Sarah races through the streets, traffic lights after traffic lights, until she gets to the studio. As she arrived, she saw the van leave and she knew she was late. She sat down leaning on the pole infront of the studio and watched the dust of the van fade away and she began to cry... the studio cleaner couldn't help but reach out to her] Studio cleaner: Can I help you young mam? Sarah: [cleans up her tears and stands up] uhm i wanted to see the manager but i realised he had just left. Studio cleaner: oh yes, everybody just did, but if you can make it tomorrow by 09;00 you might catch the flight. Sarah: really? Okay, I will make it early tomorrow, I promise, I wanted to get a spot on the dance team so I can get some money and hopefully, have my little brother continue with school. We don't have a home. Studio cleaner: you sound really smart, come back tomorrow and get your spot> Sarah: but what if I don't know what makes it? Studio cleaner: Have hope, young one. Hope doesn't fail. Sarah: Hope, okay, I will see you tomorrow Studio cleaner: see you youngling. [Sarah walks her way back, contemplating hope. She hopes to get the spot tomorrow. The more she had hope, the more she could see her self on stage and with thousands of people watching her dance. Doubt began to fade away as she made her way home..] [next morning] Studio cleaner: you sure are a determined young one.. you are 30 minutes early. Sarah: had to catch the flight. Studio cleaner: [laughs] well you might be so lucky today, the manager is in early and you might get to speak to him before the rehearsals. Let me just talk to him Sarah: wow that's great [after some time] Studio cleaner: well what are you waiting for to come right in? Head straight, and turn left the first office on your right with a black door. His name is Mr Brian. Sarah: thank you. [Sarah walks in as directed by the cleaner, and knocks on the black door] Yes, come in... [says the loud voice] and Sarah walks straight in nervously. Mr Brian: how can I help you? Sarah: well uhm sir, I came to ask if I could join the dance team Mr Brian: why is that so? Sarah: because I love dancing, and I don't want my talent to just be idle. Mr Brian: is that it? Sarah: and take the dance industry to heights this country has never seen. Mr Brian: I like that. Have you been on stage before? Sarah: No, but I would really love to. Mr Brian: follow me. [Mr Brian took Sarah to the "grey room." The walls are fitted with speakers and a small flat area for dancing. This is where all auditions for new dancers are done and judgment is done whether the contestants have qualified or not.] Mr Brian: this is what I call the freestyle room. I'm going to play you a random song and you dance to it. If you impress me, you have a bright future ahead of you. The space is all yours. [Mr Brian headed to the control room and focused the lights on Sarah, and hit the play button. Sarah stood by the stage and she could hear the quality music coming from the speakers like crystals melting on her heart and she began to move as the rhythm of the song touched her heart. All kinds of thoughts went through her mind as she danced. Her Dad, her mom, her little brother, she would become after this and immediately she heard "this is it, stop". She had been dancing for 10 minutes and she didnt even notice. And all of a sudden Sarah saw the whole dance crew and Mr Brian coming towards her and clapping for her. Everyone was impressed and couldnt believe what they just saw.] Mr Brian: wait before everyone else says something. I just saw a combination of African dance gliding into western hip-hop. What? Who does that? I've never seen that before... kid you are great! I'm impressed. So one of our dancers left the team a week ago, so we have a spot left. If you would like, you can have it. Sarah: i would love to, yes. Mr Brian: well meet your team. This is all of us. We meet at the same time tomorrow and i will give you all the details tomorrow. Sarah: noted sir. [Sarah leaves the studio, and leaves on her way home. She couldn't believe it just happened like that and she all of a sudden got the spot she had been dreaming of. She now believes hope doesn't fail. With joy she ran the long way back home. Home for Sarah was a simple shelter behind a coffee store made of clapboards to keep them warm during the cold nights of the city. After a long run, she finally arrived] Kennis: that smile means you joined the team, didn't you? Sarah: Yes, I did. I joined the team Little Bro. Kennis: great! Sarah: but now we have to go buy some food. Kennis: Bread again? Can we have pie instead? Sarah: For today we will get some pie, and nice warm chips Kennis: now we are talking. Sarah: I know you are hungry. Come on. Let's go. Kennis: after you big sister. [hope] [Later on that evening, as the two of them sat around the fire.] Sarah: if you could change the world, what would you change? kennis: for Dad to come back, he was my world. Sarah: [quiet] Kennis: and what would you change? Sarah: no more dying... Kennis: [begins to cry] [an Emotional night that was for the two] hope..
