CHAPTER TEN Skylar lay on the couch asleep with a blanket wrapped around her shoulders. The fireplace crackled and popped as the logs inhabiting it were cooked by the flames. The golden orange illumination from the fire shone on her face, casting a shadow on the wall behind her. In her slumber, she was none the wiser to the twitching of the front door’s knob as it twitched every so often.
