Festival of Reunion.
Without wasting more time, she headed to Nadia's room to share the news: “My father's soldiers are here for me. Please, you need to hide the kids.”
“Mum, What's the matter?” Danny asked Serena.
He's the other half of Serena's twin boys. He is a replica of his father, the stranger who got Serena pregnant after a one-night stand.
“Don't worry, son. You don't have to be scared. You'd be safe with Aunty Nadia. I have to be somewhere right now,” Serena assured Danny and kissed his forehead.
She wasn't done talking to Nadia when she heard a loud knock at the door. The force of the knock nearly pulled the roof down.
“They're here now. Please take the kids somewhere safe. I don't want my father to take them,” she cried to Nadia.
“No, Serena. I won't let you do this to yourself. You're coming with us, and that's final. Your father won't spare you," Nadia passed her verdict. She was hell-bent on ensuring that Serena came with her.
“I'd be fine, Nadia. Use the back door and run to a safe place with the kids. My father will behead you once he finds out that you aided my escape,” Serena explained extensively.
She got tired of explaining to Nadia and had to lock the door from outside. She knows for sure that the twins will be reluctant to let her leave.
Serena hates to do this, but she has no choice. She doesn't think it's the right time to let her father know about the kids yet.
Like a sacrificial lamb, Serena stepped outside and offered herself to Anthony and the soldiers like a burnt offering.
“Save yourself the stress, Anthony. I am all you need. Let the journey back home begin.” She spread her arm so damn wide.
She wasn't afraid of walking closer to Anthony because she knew that Anthony wouldn't dare pull the trigger on her.
“Go search the house. Don't spare anyone,” Anthony ordered Joshua.
He is yet to be convinced that Serena survived alone in a strange land for two years.
Serena panicked as she watched Joshua run into the house without doing anything to stop him. She is afraid that Nadia and the twins will be found.
She has sacrificed a lot not to end up on the losing side. She would not forgive herself if anything bad happened to Nadia.
“There's no one inside, Beta. She has been living alone,” Joshua dashed outside with his feedback.
It's the kind of feedback that Serena wanted to hear. However, she's curious to know how Nadia escaped with the kids so fast.
“Take her to the chariot. Her father awaits her,” Anthony instructed Joshua as they made plans to return to the blood moon pack.
Douglas has been restless since he heard about Serena's return. He hasn't visited Serena yet since she returned.
There are still some questions in his head that are yet to be answered. He refuses to believe that Serena survived all alone in Crest Fall Town for two years.
“She already found someone else and eloped with him to the human town,” he speculated.
To be sure his thoughts were accurate, he assigned his most trusted Beta, Alexander, the task of carrying out an investigation into Serena's case.
After two weeks of thorough investigation, the whereabouts of Serena's kids were uncovered in Crestfall. The kids are still in Nadia's custody in a different home.
Douglas didn't doubt the authenticity of the information because he could recall seeing Xavier speaking with Serena at her festival.
Now he has every reason to believe that Serena was living with Xavier in Crestfall Town all along.
“My Alpha, what do you suggest we do about Serena's kids?” Alexander seeks guidance from Douglas after a stroll in the pack garden.
It's been over forty-eight hours since Douglas got the information, and he is yet to decide.
Alexander isn't pleased with the delay. He knows Douglas to be ruthless when making decisions. But now, Douglas is becoming a shadow of himself.
“Never mind, I have an idea,” Alexander snapped.
“What do you have for us?” Douglas asked in anticipation.
He keeps proving Alexander right. He is more than cautious with his actions.
He is afraid of making decisions that will stir war between his Pack and the Blood Moon Pack.
“How about we kidnap the twins and use them as leverage over Alpha Benjamin?” Alexander suggested.
He was more passionate about this than Douglas, who was more affected by the situation.
“Remember his broken promise? Serena was meant to be your bride. But what happened? He stabbed you in the back. He needs to pay for the betrayal,” Alexander snarled.
He gnashed his teeth and prepared his punch as though he were the one who was betrayed.
“I see,”.Douglas nodded his head while trying to dissect Alexander's game plan.
“I love it!" He endorsed it after a thorough deliberation.
“I need you to summon my strongest men in the pack. Ambush the town and bring those twins to me. Should anyone stand in your way, you already know what to do,” he passed his judgment.
Alexander just awoke a sleeping beast inside Douglas. He can't help but heap praise on Alexander for coming up with a brilliant solution.
Now he's got a perfect revenge plan against Alpha Douglas, all thanks to the individual brilliance of the unsung hero, Alexander.
Serena is back to her normal life again after the back-and-forth with her father. She was punished for her crimes.
The Blood Moon Pack Festival has returned again. Trust Serena not to miss out on this year's event. She needed the event to cool off.
Serena was at the swimming competition when she spotted a stranger dressed in a dark hoodie.
“Who’s that stranger?” she mumbled to herself.
The face rings a bell in her head, but she can't recall the exact place she saw him.
“Hey, wait,” she called out to the stranger.
She tried to locate him again, and he was nowhere to be found. He had escaped through the crowd that attended the swimming competition.
She was worried. “I thought I saw him a while ago?”
She refused to give up. She swore to find the mystery man regardless of what it would cost her.
She believes that the mystery man has the answers to her questions.
