Before the dawn of man and civilization on Earth, eons ago there were super humans
and immortals on the planet, and they battled each other to become the greatest
subterranean power.
These immortals came from many houses and families, and they carried on their
families" traditions and practices, including inherited rivalries and conflicts. Beating their
opponents was more of an instinctive way for them to live.
The Montgomery and Alabaster families were two of these families. Both families have
fought among themselves throughout the years. Theirs sprung from a lost love, not from
supremacy.
At that time, Anas of the Alabaster family and goddess Anika of the Montgomery family
fell in love. Her father, however, was never in favour of Anika"s marriage to Meka of
Greenland. Those who married into the Greensland family would inherit excellent
fortune and the esteem of their clan, as they were the finest family back then.
Anika would meet up with Anas in secret, disobeying her father"s wishes. When Mona,
Anika"s older brother, learned of this, she did the worst thing an immortal could.
Anas and Anika"s meeting place was the scene of a surprise attack by Mona and his
soldiers. As soon as Anas arrived unprepared and defenseless, Mona and his men
tormented and murdered him.
Rumours and stories started to circulate, claiming that Anika killed Anas so she might
wed Meka of the Greenland. The alabaster clan became enraged by this and
assassinated Anika prior to her wedding night, but before then. As a symbol of
contrition, Anika killed her brother and sent his head to the Alabaster Clan. However, it
was too late; the Alabaster Clan assassinated Anika while she was asleep, preventing
her from waking up the following morning.
This rekindled the rivalry between the two families, which they continue to fight about to
this day.
And the rivalry between the two families now is not all that different from what occurred
in the past. Repeated cases involving Anika and Anas served to intensify the rivalry
between the families.

"Who are you?!" Evan questioned Ezra.
Twenty years ago, an incident occurred between the two rival families. Esther
Montgomery developed feelings for Bobby of the Alabaster family. The family dispute
meant that their love life had to remain hidden.
Esther"s father, who planned for his daughter to marry the heir of the Montgomery
family, had different plans for her. Esther refused to accept this proposition, which could
have resulted in her father disowning her. She wedded Vladimir but still kept on seeing
Bobby under Vladimir’s nose. To save himself the shame, Esther’s father had Bobby
assassinated three months later, on the night were the two were supposed to run away.
Esther had waited for him but he didn’t show. Instead, it was her father – who came to
drag her back to her husband’s house. Esther refused but her father hit her, causing her
to go down. He yelled at her, saying how she was bringing shame to him. He blurted out
how it’s a good thing that he had Bobby killed and Esther felt her world crash. Esther
was a catatonic mess and was depressed when it came to the public that Bobby
Alabaster had been found dead after a ghastly accident. Vladimir, not knowing what
was wrong with his beloved, tried everything he could to help. Esther tried to end it all
one day when she suddenly had the urge to vomit. Realising that something else was
wrong with her, she got herself checked and to her delight, she found out that she was
pregnant. She had asked Vladimir for a nice comfortable home far away from the city
and the man being in love – yet so suspicious about the appearance of his daughter –
had given into her demands.
Four years later, the Alabaster family – who had found out about the truth of Bobby’s
accident – attacked and murdered Esther in her husband"s home as payback for the
death of Bobby. Greg had been the one to choke her to death, unaware that a hidden
Ezra was in full view of the scene.
"My name is Alice Montgomery, and I am Esther Montgomery"s only child." Ezra
disclosed.
Those gathered whispered to themselves, all shocked and in disbelief at the same time.
"You are the Montgomery family"s long lost heir?" Greg enquired with wide eyes.
"My father went further to create another successor for himself and abandoned me
since he believes I am not his child." Ezra stood up softly and explained, her voice
devoid of emotions.
"The conflict between the two families is the evil that I will put an end to. It is long over
due. The senseless rivalry resulted in my mother"s death and my expulsion from my
home. Everyone, including your family and mine, is guilty here. And no matter how long
it takes, I am determined to stop this. It is time for change since you have all done
enough." Ezra murmured, taking Evan"s hand off her shoulders very gently and got on
her feet, staggering a little.
Greg slowly got up and gave her a mocking laugh. “You’ll put an end to this war, you
say. How, when it existed before you were even born? This is bigger than you and your
grand delusions, girl!”
"I would have killed you two moves ago if I wanted. Evan was going to stop me, I knew
that. My goal is to mend the rifts caused by the past, not to murder you. You are going
to see me carry out that action." Ezra said.
"I would watch that happen over my dead body." Greg spat out, his lips bared in a snarl.
“We can never cooperate with you cowards. Your mission is doomed from the start."
Greg spoke in an irritated manner.
While Greg and Ezra were fighting, Marcus, who gathered himself, made the Mayor
aware of his need for assistance. The government aide arrived quickly to collect Greg
and his soldiers, and Evan, Ezra and Vera had no choice but to watch them all leave.
The aides that came for Greg were told to leave Evan alone and they did as told, the
commander of the team nodding his head in respect at Evan. Once they were gone,
Evan nearly collapsed to the ground but Vera and Ezra caught him. He was taken to
another private room to rest. Claus and Willian, who had been lured away from the
hospital came running into the new room the moment Evan was put into a deep sleep to
heal – a tired Ezra and Vera by his sides.
Evan"s release to return home came after a few days in the hospital, during which the
unrest in Santos subsided. Greg and his men vanished from sight, whilst Vladimir and
his men went silent on their end. The peace was tentative but no one wanted to break it.
Vladimir wasn’t able to comprehend Alice’s ’s desire to bring the two families together.
He could never imagine working with a family member who was Alabaster. But then
again, he shouldn’t be surprised. She was her mother’s daughter.
"Your daughter is the talk of the town now, Sir. Her alliance with Alpha Evan’s is a
loaded ammunition against us, it seems."
Vladimir heard Manuel, his right hand man, say.
"Please do not emotionally manipulate me in such a way ever again. I had a very good
reason for doing what I did. I am not a moron.” Vladimir shot back, irritated.
"I apologize, sir. So, sir, what should we do? Manuel enquired.
"Let us wait and see how this plays out as we keep a low profile until we fully
understand Alice’s plan. However, I am positive that this peace agreement will fail, and I
will not put up with it. I should be superior to the Alabaster, not on par with them."
Vladimir uttered harsh words.

The mayor, who was now Greg"s puppet, was fidgeting at his camp at the emergence of
Ezra.
"Are you actually going to prevail over her? She is supposedly too strong.” The mayor
enquired.
"You humans never stop asking dumb questions. Do not worry about her. Just focus
more on building up your military might. There will be other conflicts.” Sitting on the
mayor"s seat, Greg spoke in a firm voice, the mayor gazing at him like a coward.
