~Unknow POV~
I watch Kaly through a body of water scream as these humans put a red hot iron against her skin. All I want to do right now is burn the place down. How dare they touch her. This girl is my future bride set up by her mother before she was sadly murdered. I continue to watch her as she wraps up her own arm. Thank the gods she only half human. A burn like that could have killed then.
I look as my brother approaches. "Clay, it good to see you again. Dd you do as I ask?" He rolls his eyes," Still don't understand why you couldn't do it. She your mate." I look at him," It so when she finally ready, it won't be traced directly to me. That will be no fun. I'm a demon lord. I need her to be ready. No secrets."
He sighs, "I hope you know what you're doing, Sam." He pats my back leaving. There is so much i want to tell her, but it is not my place. Especially the murder of her mother and what actually happened. That anger she will feel I just want to shield her away from it all, but I can't. I know fate will bring us together when she is ready. I walk away from the water. Gods, please keep her safe for me.
~Kaly POV~
I groan as I ride the horse. It has been a few months since I left my home. Back at home, the snow would have started to melt, but here, the snow is still a thick blanket. I get off the horse , tie it around a tree branch, and walk into my new home. A man stops in his tracks and stares at me. "Uh, you lost girlly?' glared at him, ' No, I was sent from the base in Érin." He set the box down and looked at me fast. "Oh s**t you're the vampire creature thing. God damn you look young." I just stared at him. I've never heard anyone use these kinds of words before.
"Uh... Yeah... Where are your elders?" He takes me by the hand and pulls me down the hall. I just stare at him. I'm not used to a human being comfortable enough to even hug me, let alone touch my hand. I watch him open the door. "Don't be scared they won't stab, maybe." He chuckles. I walk in slowly, looking around. It was a small room with a table and some chairs. There were 5 elders sitting there watching me.
I wave slowly. "I'm Kaly. They sent me to..." A woman sits up. I can tell her face was resting, but she looked so mad. "We know who you are and what you are and why you are here. I'm gonna set ground rules, and if you think you won't react to any of these rules broken, you're wrong. No biting or turning anyone. I know you turn a human already. I was told you were very young and went through a lot that week still." All i could do is gulp. 'This woman super scary' is all can think. "I dont know your kind, but if you need to drink blood, it will only be nimal. With these to rules, do i make myself clear. Breaking anyne of them will result in your death. ''
All I could do was nod. In my 200 years with the slayers, I've never seen or heard a human, let alone an elder talk to me like this. Usually, they are too scared to even look at me or think they are better than me, so they just talk down to me. " I understand. I barely even need blood, and when I do, it normally animal blood." I watch as she stands and gives me a smirk. " I'm glad we understand each other welcome to the East slayer base. I hope that with your time here, we can grow to understand your kind." She walks up, grabing my forearm, giving me a warrior handshake. "Let me show you where you will be staying. We are small still, so right now everyone has their own room." She tells me moving to the rooms. I look around as we walk there seeing men still building. That is when I notice that one is hammering a wall shirtless. It is freezing. No human could survive this weather shirtless. That is when it hits me, and i look at her quickly. "You accept creatures."
She smirks, " I was wondering when you were going to notice, but to answer your question, yes, I accept creatures. The man you were staring at is a werewolf." I look at the man again. This time, he looks back at me, smirking. I felt my cheeks heat up. 'Why am getting hot?' I thought. I've never felt my cheeks get hot before this is a weird feeling. I quickly pick up my pace and go into the room. It is a simple room very small with a hammik and a trunk. I put my bag on the trunk. " I'll give you time to rest. I know you have traveled far. We have 3 meals here dawn, high sun, and dusk. There training after the first and second meal than after the third meal is when we give out a task r mission for you to complete. I know where you came from they do things a little different. Bunch of boys running things never getting their hands dirty, not here." I turn to look at her shocked.
" Speaking of missions. When am I expected to go on my first mission here?" I watch her make a face not of anger or disgust, but it almost looks sad. "Like I said, I know your last base did things differently. You have been traveling for a few months. You, my dear, will rest for a week or two. Then, on your first few missions, you'll be joining my team." I look shocked. She is an elder with a team. She right they really do things differnt here. In my 200 years I never seen an elder with their own team. I've never even seen them fight. "Then and only then after I've seen you on a few missions. I will allow you to do solo missions, and with time, I will allow you to create your own team. I've seen your file. They should have made you a leader sooner. They were stupid. I'm not. I see what you can do and what you can become. Work with me, and I work with you." She puts a hand on my shoulder.
I'm in utter shock. She wants to level me up, and she barely knows me. Maybe being here won't be so bad. I've been working hard to becoming a leader, and now I'm being told there a chance I will be. I'm just in shock, but all I can do is smile and hug her, and once again, she shocks me by hugging me back. "You're not my first creature to come from another slayer base. I know how they treat yall. I don't want to add to that pain and anger. I want to show you that humans and creatures can work together." She smiles at me. She reminds me a lot like my mother. She believed in peace with humans and creatures living side by side knowing each other. Exposing our world to them so they could better handle the dangers around them. I also agree with it, and maybe one day I can make my mother dream come from true. True peace.
"Ok, I'm going to let you rest. If you need anything to be afraid to ask." I nod as she leaves the room. I unpack my things into the trunk, getting into my night wear. I slowly get in the hammik. I must have been more exhausted than I thought because as soon as my head hit the pillow, everything went black.
~Sam POV~
I watch Kaly fall asleep in her new home. I had Clay hand her file to this base elders. I knew she could soar there, but I can also hide here there. It is a new land just starting out he will never know to look there for her. Her father also would never know to look there. That bas****. He knows to stay clear from me. If I ever see him again, I'll make sure he turns to ash and stays that way this time. When Kaly finds out that her father is actually alive and everything, he is done especially to her mother. I truly do not know how she will react. I want to keep her safe and shield her from everything bad. What mate wouldn't want that, but that would be keeping the truth from her, and I would never want to do that. 600 years, I must wait, but that doesn't mean I have to sit back and do nothing. I will keep her safe from afar. I will do everything in my power to give her the best. See you in 600 years, little mate.
