owdy, General, JT,’ said Jim, happy to see them both.
The general raised an eyebrow at the western lingo.
‘Jim, meet Dr. Van Eaton and Professor Banks.’
Jim shook hands with them both but did not say anything.
‘I’ll bring you up to speed,’ said the general in his oversized baritone voice. ‘We just flew Professor Banks out from MIT. He called late yesterday with some disturbing news.’
Jim looked at Dr. Banks, gauging what sort of person he was. He was looking anything but happy. He knew that the general would not have flown him to the Bio Warfare Center labs unless it was serious.
