Chapter 5 T he evening was still warm with the scent of sage drifting around Jim and Heather. They stood for a few seconds with their foreheads touching, eyes blurred by their closeness. It was impossible to describe their feelings. After seconds that seemed like minutes, their lips touched softly. Then they slowly moved apart, just far enough for their eyes to focus. Jim was transfixed, unable to move or speak as he stared at Heather. It was always a shock just how beautiful she was. In person, she almost took his breath away. She was slender but still shapely with green eyes and long light-brown hair.
