CHAPTER 4
Sundance immediately knew he wasn’t in his own bed. For one thing, the bed was far too comfortable, and for another the blanket over him wasn’t a thin, raggedy old thing, but something that was thick, soft, and warm.
He blinked a few times and turned to a soft snoring sound. The sight of Evian sleeping in a chair brought back everything. His brothers coming onto the ranch and threatening the people that lived here... god, how could these people not hate him?
Evian’s eyes came open as if he knew Sundance had awakened. He gave a slow smile as he sat up and rubbed his face. “Hey, there. How are you feeling?”
