The Alpha's hidden daughter

Chapter 1

* Alpha Maurice P.O.V. *

I was pasing down the hall while I listened to my wife and mate giving birth. Normally I would have been by her side but at the same time we were on the look out for a pack that had been attacking us several times in the last two months. My wife had told me to wait on the hall because she knew I had to be on guard. Both me and my wolf didn't want to agree with her but knew she would scold us for the rest of our lives if we didn't. Several omega's and our pack doctor were by her side and kept me notified.

''Aarrgghh.. How long will it take?!'' I exclaimed and sighed. Suddenly I heard someone chuckle and I look behind me. ''You know how kids are.. They come when they come'' Charlie, my beta, said. He had already two kids walking around our pack and had been my source of information during the pregnancy. ''I know but still... I can't stand the idea of pain my mate has right now'' I said and Charlie nodded. ''I understand Alpha but we do have a other problem at hand too'' He said now more serious and I sighed. We walked a bit away from the room and Charlie explained that the first attacks had started on our border patrol. ''I can't leave.. not yet..'' I said and Charlie nodded. ''We all understand, but we need to know what we have to do..'' he said. ''We have been able to fight them off for now but our patrol is hurt quite a bit..'' Charlie said but suddenly we turned around hearing a painful scream.

A omega came out the room running and passed us by without saying anything. ''Is this normal?'' I asked and Charlie shrugged. ''I have to go inside'' I then said but was stopped when the doctor walked out. ''Everything is alright.. Luna Patricia just gave the last push'' she said as the omega came walking back with some more towels and a pink blanket. ''A girl?'' I asked, noticing the blanked and the doctor nodded with a smile. ''If you didn't already get grey because of the pack, you will now..'' She said and went back in. ''That wife of yours is quite something..'' I said to Charlie and Charlie grinned. ''She is a handful but the best doctor I know'' Charlie said proud. 

I remembered the day Charlie told me he found his mate as if it was yesterday. My best friend and beta-to-be at that time, had never liked doctors but the moment he had woken up on his eighteenth birthday, he had been drawn to the doctors office by a special scent he could find. It took him days to find out where the scent came from, until he had actually gotten injured after a foolish try to jump off a small cliff and was brought in. It turned out to be a visiting nurse from a friendly-pack was the one driving him crazy. When he found her, he was happy but also afraid but when she told him after patching him up, she would have to give notice to herself that her mate was a reckless fool, he laughter and they were the cutest couple I had ever seen.

Charlie suddenly punched me on my shoulder. ''Hello... Earth to Maurice.. Go check out your wife and daughter'' he said and I nodded. I walked into the room and saw my mate nursing our daughter. I walked up to them and smiled proudly. ''Hey there my moon..'' I said and Patricia looked up at me with a smile. ''Here is our little star.. my sun'' she said and showed our daughter. ''Ashley..'' I whispered and Patricia nodded. ''She is beautiful..'' I said and sat down next to them. Our baby let go of the breast of her mother and Patricia moved her up a little and slowly stroked her back so she could burp. After she did she looked at Charlene, our pack doctor. Charlene nodded and helped her give the baby to me. ''I.. wait she is so small'' I said as protest but this was futile. ''Maurice, she needs to know your scent too'' Charlene said stern but friendly and I held my baby daughter in my hands. While looking at her, I smiled proudly and got tears in my eyes.

Our moment of happiness suddenly was interrupted by a lot of noise coming from the hall. Charlie stormed in and looked at me with a shock in his eyes. ''It was a setup... They were here all along and were just waiting... We need to fight now and protect our Luna and your daughter...'' He said and I nodded. My wolf growled at this news and showed his worry about both the pack but also our new born. Charlene took our baby and I looked at my wife. ''Rest and try to get to safety when you can..'' I said and then looked at Charlene. ''If anything happens to me.. Make sure they are alright'' I said, I didn't need to use my alpha voice to see that Charlene would do anything to keep them safe. Charlie and I then ran out of the room and Charlene locked the room.

From that moment it all went fast, we had clearly not been updated well on how big the Silver line pack was as we were outnumbered fast. The fight was fast and bloody, the moment I faced the pack leader John and his Luna Daisy, I had been quite wounded already. ''So.. I heard you got a child today'' John said sarcastically. He was not hurt or tired at all. ''Too bad you'll never see her grow up... Because today is the day you die'' he said and charged right at me. I blocked his attack but the moment I tried to attack, I felt a sharp pain coming from my back. I looked behind me and saw Daisy with the handle of a dagger in her hand. I coughed and felt how my lungs filled with blood. It got dark before my eyes and the last thing I could do was mind linking my mate and other pack members: ''Save her.. Save my daughter and your Luna..''  I said.

* P.O.V Luna Patricia *

This day had started with pain, bearable pain but it was painful when I started the delivery of my unborn daughter. Maurice had brought me to the pack doctor, which was my best friend and also our beta-female and she had given me something for the pain when it started to get unbearable. I am not what they call a p***y but this was so different than normal pain.

I knew that the delivery would be risky, not because of my health or the health of my baby, but because we were under attack by a different pack. Why the Silver line pack was attacking, we had no idea. We were not ally's but also not enemies either. The day didn't seem to end and so did the contractions. It took quite a while before Charlene told me it was time to push but when she did I could hear my wolf howl in excitement and I chuckled a bit.

From the moment I was allowed to push, it didn't take long anymore before I could hear the first little cries from my new born daughter. Charlene freed her from the navel cord and cleaned her up a little. She gave the baby to me and went to get Maurice, my mate and our Alpha. When she came back, she wrapped a pink blanket around the baby and then placed her back with me so I could nurse her with the first milk.

Maurice came in smiling proudly. ''Hey there my moon...'' he said and I smiled because of his silly nickname. ''This is our little star... my sun'' I responded and showed him the little girl that was drinking from my breast. ''Ashley..'' he said and I nodded. It was the name we thought of to honor my father in our first born child. His name had been Ashton, and because he actually was the one that got us together, Maurice promised that our first child would be named after him. When we found out we would have a girl, Ashley was the best choice. ''She is beautiful..'' Maurice said and he sat down on the chair. Right at that moment, she let go of my breast and I helped her up a little so she could burp. After Ashley had done so, I looked at Charlene and she nodded. She took Ashley from me and wanted to give her to Maurice who was protesting. ''I.. wait she is so small..'' he said but Charlene gave him a look. ''Maurice, she needs to get your scent too'' Charlene said stern but friendly. He held her in his hands and smiled proudly. I could feel how proud he was to have a daughter because of our bond and I had exact the same feeling.

Our moment of happiness wasn't lasting long though, a lot of noise came from the hall and suddenly Charlie stormed into the room and looked at us but mainly at Maurice with shocked eyes. ''It was a setup... They were here all along and were just waiting... We need to fight now and protect our Luna and your daughter...'' He said and Maurice nodded. He gave Ashley back to Charlene and he looked at me.  ''Rest and try to get to safety when you can..'' he said and then looked at Charlene. ''If anything happens to me.. Make sure they are alright'' Maurice then said, and didn't need to use his alpha voice to see that Charlene would do anything to keep them safe. Charlie and he then ran out of the room and Charlene locked the room.

I tried to get up but Charlene gave me a stern look. ''You are not moving just yet... I have to free you from the equipment first'' she said and laid Ashley in a little crib. She then freed me from the needles and tubes and once that was done, she helped me up. ''Take a few slow steps first and don't try to rush it right away.. I know we are in a emergency but your health is more important, also for your daughter'' Charlene said. I nodded and did what she said. I stood up and could feel that my pack was getting hurt and we even had lost quite a few omega's already. My wolf helped me stay on my feet and take a few steps. ''You need to take a shower and get dressed... I wished I could have given you a bit more sleep but we need you to get to safety..'' Charlene said and helped me to a bathroom. 

I did take a quick shower but my mind wasn't where it should be. I kept feeling the pain of my pack and my wolf whimpered.

''Are you okay?''  I asked her.

''No.. Our mate is in great danger... And there are wolves outside these doors waiting for their Alpha to give them a go on barging in.. We need to hurry Pat..'' Arcadia answered and I nodded.

''We need to hurry then..'' I said and rinsed myself off and grabbed a towel. Everything was still hurting a lot but I knew I could handle it. In the end I had to handle it.

Charlene had given me some clothes of herself which would fit and be easy to wear. By the smell of it she had taken them from her laundry basket and I knew why. It would help to cover my alpha sent. I put them on and walked back to her. In the short period, she had put on different clothes herself and dressed Ashley in clothes and walked with her to me. I looked at my new born and gave her a hug, and then looked at Charlene. ''Char.. Arcadia told me there are wolves outside the door.. We need to go through a different door and... I want you to take Ashley'' I said with pain in my heart.

''Pat no..'' Charlene said. ''My children are safe already, Charlie brought them to my family's pack... And I just called them, a few of them are on their way here to help us.. They couldn't interfere with the attack but they will do what they can to safe you and me'' Charlene said. ''I know.. But, I have the feeling it is better for her to be with you.. If someone catches my sent even though I have your clothes, I am doomed.. If they find her with me, she will be dead too and that is not what I want'' I explained and Charlene nodded. ''If that is your wish... I will do as you say.. But, I am not agreeing one bit'' she said with a clear protesting sound in her tone.

We used a back entrance which was not guarded by the other pack and sneaked away from the labor room. I looked around and was on guard, before I became Luna I was one of the better fighters under the she-wolves. It was a quick route to the outdoors.

''We must hurry.. They just barged in the room and found the back entrance'' Arcadia said and really wanted to come out but I held her back.

''We can't change right now.. They will know right away where they can find Ashley..'' I said and kept running.

Charlene and I were walking past a few buildings and the trick with her clothes seemed to work very well. ''They said they would come to pick us up at the back of the pack house.. But it is swarmed with Silver line members'' Charlene said and I knew that inside she was cursing her head off.

Suddenly I felt a sharp pain coming from behind, I couldn't stay on my feet and fell on the grass.

''Mate! Mate no no no!'' Arcadia exclaimed and I felt the pain he was feeling. I couldn't say mine was worse because my heart also broke because I knew his did too. We all could hear his last Alpha command:

''Save her.. Save my daughter and your Luna..'' 

I felt tears burn and suddenly Ashley started crying too. Charlene tried to shush her but it didn't work. Because we couldn't have it to get the attention on us, I got up and took my baby girl from my best friend and shushed her. It took a little bit of time, but she got quiet and suddenly we heard footsteps behind us. We turned around and Charlene sighed in relief. ''I am so glad to see you..'' She said to Charlie who was in his wolf form. He huffed and looked around on guard, when he looked back at me I saw the sadness in his eyes. ''I know Charlie... He was your best friend'' I said and walked to him. I held my baby girl close to him and he gave Ashley a lick on her little cheek. ''We really need to get to the forest.. I just received a text, they wait at the north side'' Charlene said and looked at Charlie. They seemed to be in a mind link and after a short moment they both nodded.

''Charlie is gonna create a diversion so we can run towards the forest..'' Charlene said to me and I gave Ashley back to her. Charlie started to run and let out a long howl which clearly sounded like a threat. Even though I was the Luna, I shivered hearing such a hostile howl coming from who was once known as the pack clown. Charlene pulled on my arm and we started running towards the forest. The hood of my jacket fell down and I knew my sent would be spreading around. It didn't take long before a few wolves came towards us, I recognized one of them as a pack member but the other two were definitely from the Silver line pack. I looked at Charlene. ''Take care of her..'' I said and then stopped running and prepared for a fight. I couldn't shift because I had just given birth and this gave me a disadvantage, a big one.

I could hear Charlene scream my name, saying I had to run but I knew this would end bad if I did. I looked behind me and mind linked her:

''Go now or I'll never forgive you.. This is a order Charlene''

She tried to resist but then started running again. The wolf of my own pack stood by my side and I smiled. ''Thank you for your support'' I said and then ducked down for a wolf than jumped my way. The fight was two against three but the three went up to five in a matter of seconds. We did our best but knew it was futile.

I had just snapped one of the wolves their back paws when I saw Charlie jump over me right into the middle of the group. I saw how hurt he already was and made a growling sound. He still easily took one wolf down but watching him made me not look out and suddenly I was smacked to the ground by a other female, still in human form. ''Oh it will be my pleasure to not only have killed the Alpha but also the Luna'' I heard a sneering voice that hurt my ears. I looked behind me and saw Daisy. ''Heh.. So you are the one that killed my mate..'' I said and suddenly I turned around and grabbed her by her throat. She was shocked and this I used to my advantage. I stood behind her, my grip firmly on her throat and I looked at her pack members. ''Let go of my Beta.. Or your Luna will not live to see another sunrise '' I said and was ready to kill the women that killed my mate.

''Do it.. Do it'' Arcadia said in my head and I let my instinct follow her in this case. Before anyone could do something I started to choke her and when this actually didn't go fast enough, I snapped her neck. She fell down on the ground but before I could do something else, I suddenly felt a pair of manly hands around my own neck. ''So.. You killed my Luna... Now I should kill you too.. Or I could let you live to endure the pain that I am feeling now too'' the cold voice of John said. ''You can do that but if you want this pack to become yours, you will have to kill me because they will never be linked to you as their alpha'' I said, actually not afraid to die. ''Maybe not.. Unless I make you my new mate'' John said and I snorted. ''I'll never obey you.. And on your first attempt I'll kill you'' I said. ''Too bad.. I would have loved to have you under my sheets, then I'll just have to snap your little neck'' John said and before I could answer he did what he said.

The last thing I felt was relieve, before my body hit the ground I could already feel how I returned to the moon, where I rejoined my mate. The only wish I left on the earth was that Ashley would live and grow up to be a strong women.
