The Alpha's hidden daughter

Chapter 7

* 18 year old Ashley P.O.V. *

I had spend the last hours before the full moon would actually start in my room. Several times aunt Charlene, Evan and even Dylan or Jack came to check if I was doing alright. I was actually doing quite alright, I was still nervous of course but Daciana helped me get through those nerves.

‘’You are such a jitterbug.. Stop the worrying or else I can’t help you’’ Daciana said and I could feel that my nerves were slowly also effecting her too. This is not what I wanted and I think quickly what I can do about this.

‘’I know... I’m sorry... I’ll take a hot shower..’’ I then say to her and get up, I grab a towel and clean underwear. ‘’Only underwear before the change right?’’ I asked her.

‘’Yes, that is enough for now. All though nothing is even better because it is not that it will be spared. Also, that hot shower is a good idea, just do it quick.. Because you are being crazy nervous.. And it won’t be long before the full moon starts’’ Daciana then says and I could indeed feel it in my muscles that it wasn’t long.

‘’Yeah yeah.. I already said sorry.. Bossy lady’’ I said and I couldn’t believe she could be so bossy towards me. I walked towards the bathroom to take the shower we were just talking about and could hear her laugh from my ‘Bossy lady’ comment.

‘’Good girl.. Now take the shower’’ Daciana said and I could hear her chuckle. I rolled my eyes and stripped from my clothes. I put on the shower and put him as warm as I knew I could handle. I slowly got under and I felt my muscles relax under the warmth of the water. I didn’t take a long shower but this was also because the moon would soon be full. I put on some simple underwear and grabbed my bathrobe.

After putting that on too I walked downstairs and saw my family sit in the living room. ‘’Ten minutes, then we will go outside.. Are there more people we wanted to invite?’’ Uncle Charlie asked and we all shook our head. We were a small group, only Aunt Charlene, Uncle Charlie, Dylan, Jack, Evan and me. I liked it this way because even though my aunt always said I had a killer body, I was quite insecure about my body and didn’t want others to see me naked right now.

I looked at the clock and decided to walk outside already, I wanted to see the moon before it would infect my body so much that I couldn’t enjoy the sight anymore. As I walked out our glass door, I looked at the sky and smiled. ‘’Such a beautiful sight..’’ I said and a sigh left me because I could truly enjoy looking at the moon. ‘’Yes, it is very beautiful, but I am sure you won’t think that after tonight’’ Daciana said and I shook my head. ‘’No.. I think I’ll always love watching the moon and stars.. Especially because it always feels as if my parents can see me whenever I look at the moon.. It sounds silly I know’’ I said but Daciana was quiet and didn’t say anything. Not even a sassy comment.

After what felt like a while but in truth was only a few minutes, I heard the door open again and my family members walk outside. They all walked up to me and we hugged each other. ‘’Listen to your wolf..’’ my uncle said and then he walked a bit away. I couldn’t help but wonder if he would also be limp on one feet when he was in his wolf form but I shook the thought away. In the distance I could hear the first members change and it was a weird sound, mostly it were screams but I didn’t hear more than just that. Then suddenly I heard the sound of bones snapping and I saw Evan fall on the ground, followed by more snapping and Dylan and Jack following him. I looked at them, and saw that they were now much faster than before and I was happy for them.

The moment I heard snapping behind me, coming from my aunt I also felt something snap in my own arm. ‘’Aaah!!’’ I screamed from the sudden pain and even though it was my arm, I sunk to the ground and sat on my knees. ‘’It’s alright.. Everyone starts somewhere else’’ Daciana told me inside my head and I nodded. A few more snaps in my arms and the tears rolled over my cheeks. This was hurting so much! I felt another snap in my spine and arched my back, it felt natural to do that and actually it helped. ‘’You’re doing good.. This first snaps are the most painful’’ I heard Daciana say then. ‘’Alright..’’ was the only thing I could answer and my breathing got heavier. It wasn’t that easy anymore to breath but I knew I would get through this

I lost sight on how my family did but unlike I had thought, it didn’t scare me. Focusing on my own change helped quite a bit with getting through the pain. I breathed slowly or at least tried to breath slow and not panic. I had broken almost every bone that I needed and could feel the change in them. ‘’You are doing great’’ I heard a voice, it wasn’t Daciana and for a moment I didn’t know who it was until I saw a red fur close to me. Aunt Charlene. I smiled and grabbed a hand full of fur from her and then felt a wet nose against my face. My sight was blurry because of the change and the tears but I could feel the confidence coming back. ‘

’Here comes the hard part’’ Daciana suddenly said and I screamed from the sudden pain, it was different from the bone snapping. It was a burning pain through my whole body and for a moment it fell as if I was flying and then suddenly was thrown back to the ground. The moment I ‘hit’ the ground again, I could feel that my body had changed completely. I was laying on the grass and it felt cool against my fur. My fur? Yes.. My fur. It was a weird thought to talk about my skin as fur but it also felt normal. I didn’t know how long I was laying there when I heard more footsteps coming towards me.

I got up from laying flat and at first I growled but then I saw the familiar wolves that were a part of my family. Aunt Charlene with her red fur and light brown eyes, uncle Charlie with his black fur and gold yellow eyes, Dylan’s grey fur with black belly and next to him a wolf I didn’t know. He was light yellow sand colored with a slightly darker brown on his belly and around his neck with blue eyes. ‘’Jack?’’ I asked and he nodded. ‘’You are pretty..’’ I said. ‘’Thank you very much’’ He responded and I then looked to the wolf closest to me. Red with white on his belly and one thigh that was also white. Evan, he had grey eyes as wolf and I smiled. Or at least I tried. I then did something new, I tried to get up on all fours. My legs were a bit wobbly and I looked at them all but they just looked at me and waited. For what do they wait?

‘’For your first steps.. Probably you will do what every other wolf does.. Take their first steps and then start running because you get enthusiastic.. Don’t try it, you will fall face first in the grass and with a bit of bad luck even against the first tree you encounter’’ Daciana said and I nodded. I put up one paw and felt how my back paw also moved automatically, I put them forward and then did that again with my other paws. ‘’You’re doing good’’ Both Daciana and uncle Charlie said, I felt proud and did it again. After that I took another step and another one. I heard something behind me and turned my head, it was my family that followed me. I was at ease right away and focused back on walking on four paws. It felt quite weird but on the other hand... Paw... It also was very natural. I took my sweet time and after several meters of just walking I decided I wanted to pick up the phase a bit. I didn’t hear Daciana protest so I started walking a little faster and it felt great! I never wanted anything different anymore! ‘’Haha, yeah I felt the same the first time.. But I don’t think you will keep that feeling, just think about the fleas and only eating raw meat’’ I heard Aunt Charlene in my head and she had a point.

Suddenly I heard more footsteps and felt a special aura coming towards us. I stopped with walking and saw a brown wolf and a grey wolf coming towards us. ‘’Welcome to the wolf side Ashley..’’ Alpha George said. ‘’You look amazing Ash.. I am sure you will think so yourself’’ Luna Isla said and I felt myself blush. Well, my human side blushed since wolves can’t blush. I looked down and moved my paws  bit to see if I could see how I actually looked. I saw a bit of a sand like brown color and my front paws had white socks. I then turned my head and saw I had pretty much the same brownish color all over my fur until you were at the start of my tail, that was marked with a large white spot. Yes.. Luna Isla was right. I thought indeed that my wolf was quite beautiful, and I could feel my pride grow.

‘’Thank you very much my Alpha and Luna’’ I said and then looked at the wolves behind me. ‘’Let’s take a run.. Do you think you can do that?’’ Dylan asked and I nodded. ‘’I think I won’t fall.. But it still feels weird to be on four paws..’’ I said back and he chuckled. ‘’I understand.. Let’s go!’’ He said and started to run, followed closely by Jack. Evan looked at me for a split second and then started to run too. Uncle Charlie stayed behind, I had noticed that his leg was less limping than when he was human but it clearly still was hurting him. ‘’Go ahead sweety’’ aunt Charlene said and I then set in for a sprint since Dylan, Jack and Evan were already a bit away from me. I ran and felt the wind through my fur, it was amazing! I saw Evan running and let out a playful growl. He looked behind while running and started running faster. Oh he was challenging me! I was in for a challenge and started running faster. I got closer to him probably a lot faster that he had thought because he seemed quite surprised. I let out a sound that sounded like a chuckle and it sounded really weird coming from a wolf.

After I had caught up to the boys, I even got myself in front of Dylan with ease. ‘’I’m faster than I had expected..’’ I thought and mind linked it to them. ‘’Don’t get cocky or I’ll throw you in the lake’’ Dylan said and I laughed from the inside. ‘’I wouldn’t dare’’ I said and headed for the lake. ‘’I guess you will be inside the lake even before Evan arrives at the lake’’ I said back. ‘’Yeah right, you are just being the cocky new wolf’’ Dylan said and I heard Evan laugh too. ‘’That happened to me too’’ he said and I could remember something like that. We slowed down, also because we saw more wolves around us. Some played a game of tag, others were just walking and walking around a little. We even encountered a few pairs mating, it disgusted me quite a bit to see that and I turned my head away. ‘’Great.. now I will keep seeing that for eternity’’ I said and I heard them all laugh, even Daciana laughed and I rolled my eyes.

‘’Hey Ashley... Looking good’’ a wolf said and I bowed my head as a thank you. It seemed like the lake was the relax place for most of the pack. ‘’ Look at that newbie, she is beautiful...’’ I heard a other male say. ‘’I actually have to agree, such a pretty color of fur’’ a female responded. Didn’t they know I could also hear them? ‘’They know, but don’t care.. Not everyone knows who is who in their wolf form so you hear often the real talk on nights like this’’ Dylan explained and I understood. Of course with a large pack you don’t know everybody’s wolf form, so people can say what they want without being afraid of what you will think of them when you see them again. I walked towards the lake because I was getting thirsty and some wolves gave me some space even though I could easily fit in.

As I lowered my head, I looked at myself in the water and stopped midway because of what I saw. I couldn’t believe my eyes, literally because unlike I had thought them to be brown or maybe grey.. They were green. Normally it isn’t a big thing to have green eyes as a wolf but why I was shocked by this was because I was born with green eyes. You see, your wolf always has a different eye color than your human side and eye color has further nothing to do with your rank unless your wolves eye color is the same as the eye color of your human. That meant that you were born from Alpha blood.

I was born from Alpha blood? But.. Why did nobody ever tell me? Why did they keep it a secret? I heard some footsteps behind me and could smell the smell of fresh squeezed oranges, Dylan and fresh baked cookies, Evan behind me. ‘’Ashley? Are you okay?’’ Evan asked, worried because I suddenly didn’t move. ‘’Did you two know?’’ I asked and a new feeling came over me. Anger.. Betrayal.. I had to know if they had known about me being the daughter of a Alpha. When they didn't response I could feel the anger rise higher inside me.‘’DID.. YOU... KNOW?!’’ I suddenly roar and turned around, I had a low stance and growled a little. Dylan and Evan were shocked by my sudden hostile approach and lowered their heads. ‘’Yes.. We did..’’ Dylan said, the first who’s voice had returned to him so it seemed. ‘’Why didn’t you tell me? I am your cousin! Or.. No I am not.. But... We grew up together! You are like a brother to me.. Both of you!’’ I said and I could see the sadness in Evan’s eyes. ‘’We didn’t because... because..’’ he started to say but suddenly was interrupted by someone else. ‘’They didn’t say anything because of our command..’’ uncle Charlie spoke and I turned my head to face him. ‘’And why did you never tell me?’’ I asked and still felt very betrayed. ‘’Because we thought it was better to tell you after you shifted for the first time..’’ aunt Charlene said and stood next to uncle Charlie. My anger and the feeling of betrayal was still very much on the surface but I huffed and sat down. ‘’I still think you should have years ago.. Why now? Why not when I was sixteen.. Or.. Or thirteen?’’ I said and looked at them.

‘’Because it was also a promise I made your mother when she was pregnant from you.. But I am not going to talk about it right now.. Tomorrow after we slept and you feel less sore we will talk about this’’ aunt Charlene said and she made it clear in her voice that the more I would discuss this now, the longer she would wait. I made a soft growling sound and got up. ‘’Don’t follow me’’ I said and then ran away. I could hear in my head that Evan was very sad about the way I left but the why I didn’t understand.

While I ran, I could feel tears burn even though wolfs couldn’t cry with tears. ‘’That is your human side.. You are about to change back Ashley... Better go home, you will be very sore after the first change, maybe you cannot even walk..’’ Daciana said worried and I sighed. I didn’t want to go back but I guess it was better to listen to her. I turned around and ran towards the house. I just reached the backyard when I could feel that my change back started. I closed my eyes and the change back was less painful than the change to wolf. I was very happy about that and when I was fully human again I sat on the ground naked. I tried to get up but I couldn’t, my whole body was hurting. I sighed and looked at the sky, the stars were bright tonight and even though I was still a little angry from what I had discovered I could feel it fade away the more I looked at the stars.

‘’Did you know ?’’ I asked Daciana and waited for her answer. She was silent for quite a while and I was actually starting to get cold. ‘’Yes.. I knew.. But only because I can see all your memories, even those you don’t remember..’’ she responded and I nodded. ‘’Then.. Why didn’t you tell me?’’ I asked and in the corner of my eye I saw the large trunk with blankets for the summer nights we always sat outside. How could I not have thought of them? I slowly shoved myself toward it and grabbed the first blanket and wrapped it around me. I leaned against the trunk because it felt better than having to keep myself up with so much pain in my back. ‘’I am your wolf.. But some things are not my place to say or tell.. Like this wasn’t my thing to tell you...’’ Daciana explained and I sighed. ‘’I hate it when you are right..’’ I said and closed my eyes. God what was I tired!

A hour or so later I heard someone come closer and sleepy I opened my eyes a bit. ‘’She is cold.. I am sure her muscles are killing her’’ I heard my aunt say, worry in her voice. ‘’We will bring her inside and put her on her bed.. Can you make a hot-water bottle for her?’’ I could hear my uncle say. I was simply too tired to response and everything in my body felt so sore that I just let it all be. ‘’I’ll bring her upstairs..’’ I heard Evan say and I then felt him wrap his arms around me. He picked me up with ease and I was kinda surprised. ‘’I’ll keep the doors open for you’’ Dylan said. I didn’t know what he then did but I believe he was doing what he just had said because I noticed that Evan was walking inside quite easily.

A few minutes later I was placed in my bed and my blanket was placed over me and Evan even tucked me in so I could stay warm. He left the blanket I had around me from outside around me for extra warmth and I snuggled into my pillow. ‘’Thank you..’’ I mumbled and smiled a little. I heard Evan say something but it wasn’t more than just some mumble far away. I moved a little more to lay in a good position, which was hurting quite a bit but I fell asleep in a dreamless sleep even though I had a nasty ache in my muscles
