Kevin and Ruby arrived at his penthouse in silence. Kevin called out the newly employed maid "prepare a meal for my wife, she's in charge of the household" he instructed heading for he's room. "What would you like me to prepare" the maid asked turning to Ruby, "I don't know, do what you wish" Ruby replied as she walked away full of thought.

Ruby paced back and forth in her room, she had to ask if she could resume work, after a few minutes she decided to finally ask. She placed her hand in the knob and pushed it open to reveal Kevin. "What are you doing here" Ruby sturted. "I am here to see you, he said entering into the room. "I know you want to start working, but I have ordered the MD to grant you six months leave, it would look strange if my wife resumes work a day after her wedding" he paused as he's eyes caught her licking her lips "don't lick your lips like that you will drive me crazy" he said taking in a deep breath. you have to go somewhere make sure to take the bodyguard with you, your safety is my priority" he said brushing his hair back.

"I" Ruby paused calculating her words. "I need to call someone, but I can't find my phone anywhere" she continued trying to control her nerves, "Gabe will send your phone to you" he replied, as he left.

Later that evening Ruby had received her phone and called up Allison, she needed to tell someone what was going on. "Let me get this straight, you got married to a man you didn't know because you needed money and a house and you didn't see fit to tell me" Allison asked bewildered, Ruby nodded affirming it. "Why didn't you tell me I would have helped, what if he's dangerous" Allison asked worriedly. "I'm fine and he's not dangerous" she assured hiding the fact that her now husband was the man from incident.

Where do you live now Allison asked, "is it big, how's the environment, do you have servants?" Allison asked cheerfully with a sudden shift in mood. "I'm just getting to know the place, it's big and I only have a few servants" Ruby replied with a smile. "Can I come visit?" Allison begged folding her hands together. "No, you can't, not yet" Ruby refused almost cutting her off. "When the time is right, you will" she added.

Ruby got back to the penthouse a little relieved. Stepping into the cold room Ruby shivered using her arms to warm herself. "Are you cold" Kevin asked sitting at the far side of the living room where Ruby had not noticed. Scared she jumped facing his direction "no no" she replied shaking her head to emphasize her answer.

Taking long strides Kevin stood above her "but you're shivering he said tilting his head to meet her gaze. Ruby gripped the sides of her jean and lowered her head as the strange feeling began and her heartbeat increased. "Do you need me to warm you up" Kevin offered using his finger to lift her head up to meet his gaze send electric bolts down both their spines. Breathing in she turned around and went to meet up with Kevin, who was standing by the elevator cladded in a jet-black suit that matched her dress and some emerald cufflinks that also matched her jewelry Ruby was lost in his beauty as she stood still and gawked at him. "Come here" he ordered stretching his hand for her to take which she did.

Kevin held unto Ruby's hand as they got down from the car and walked into the big hall used for the party. Placing his hand on the small of back he led her to the dance floor, drawing attention to both of them. "I am not a good dancer" Ruby said, nervously as she nibbed on her lip. "Just follow my lead" he replied "and look straight into my eyes not down, my wife will hold her head high" he added as he lifted her upward and twirled around.

The new couple caught the eyes of someone who was standing in the crowd with the guest. It was Samuel, he was also an elite member of the society but not up to the Young's. He stared at Ruby and the man she was dancing with, and his eyes fumed with jealousy. 'How did she afford to get here, and why is she glowing so beautifully' he thought to himself, as he looked on.

When the dance was over Kevin introduced Ruby to a few of his clients especially the ones that were holding back his hidden project. "Your wife is beautiful" the attorney said smiling widely at both of them "you never told me you were married" he continued, turning his gaze to Kevin. "I like to keep my life private" he replied taking a sip of the wine served on the table.

Feeling the eyes and attention drawn to her, Ruby became nervous and excused herself to the bathroom, finally locating it she held the sides of the sink top and took two long breaths. Suddenly she heard her name "Ruby, is it?" The lady asked as she glared at her. "Yes, I am" Ruby replied wondering who the woman was. "How do you feel after crushing my hopes and dreams" the lady continued, still glaring at her "I don't understand" Ruby asked politely. "Enough with the facade, you snatched Kevin from me I am supposed to be married to him but her rejected it because of you" the woman revealed, as the tempo in her voice increased. Short of words Ruby began to fondle with her dress, why was she stuck in this position and how did she snatch Kevin from her' Ruby's mind raced with questions. Ruby stepped out of the bathroom confused and upset. Confused because she didn't know the lady and why she claimed she snatched Kevin. But she couldn't explain why she was upset. Ruby returned to Kevin's side and just stood quietly and stole subtle glances at Kevin who was busy discussing with other clients that approached them.

"A drink ma'am?" A waiter offered her while Kevin was distracted. "Thanks" she replied taking the drink and sipping it. The waiter turned around and smiled widely raising his thumb towards the lady from the toilet.
