I would laugh at Lily if it weren't for the expression on her face. The idea that my mother was some notorious biker queen of clubs was hysterical. She was too soft-hearted, too gentle. And to have Lily keep something that big from me, it was just impossible, all of it was too impossible. I couldn't take this night anymore. I needed to leave, needed to go home.
