ARRDE The city jogged by in a blur. Glimmering lights smeared across the windows like streaks of fire, yet all I could hear was my heartbeat thudding against my ears, muffled by the low hum of the engine. I leaned my head back against the seat, exhaling slowly. Three days in Paris had done little to calm the storm inside me.
