I sat in the living room, staring at the untouched glass of water on the coffee table. The apartment was silent, but my mind wasn’t. It had been hours since Alex left, and I hadn’t heard from him. I told myself he was fine, but the uneasy feeling gnawed at me, refusing to be ignored.
Then, the door lock beeped.
I jumped to my feet as Alex stepped inside. His expression was stormy, his jaw tight, his eyes burning with something unreadable.
"Where have you—"
"Myron," Alex cut me off, slamming the door behind him. "He's the one behind everything."
I blinked. "What?"
"The internet scandal. The leaks. The whole mess. It was Myron."
The air in the room felt like it had been sucked out. I stared at him, trying to make sense of his words. "How do you know?"
"I overheard something."
