Theodore I clench my teeth as I sprint up the stairs, breaking through the double doors made of damaged glass, and continue pushing forward even if my legs feel like they are going to give out beneath me. Taking a deep inhale out of pure desperation, I fight myself to my apartment. My running thoughts risk having the best of me, and I curse myself as I am as pathetic just as much as I am a coward. “I should have asked him to come upstairs,” I mutter to myself as I lean against my front door, inhaling a shaky breath.
