Zane The afternoon went fast. Much faster than I expected it to go. And for a few hours I actually felt like a normal young person. This was the kind of thing that people our age used to do, before the council won and “Fun” was a thing of the past. Here, on this little island, God knows where off the coast of the mainland we could actually pretend the world wasn’t falling apart around us. And more importantly we could forget that it was up to us to stop it. Or die trying. I wasn’t under any illusions that our lives were in jeopardy but then again, we had been in mortal danger since the moment we were born. Some of us might die. That was a very real possibility.
