“You heard her say that?” Wren’s voice was low even though the four of us were alone in their rooms. They had become our usual meeting place quite quickly. It was too risky having open and frank conversations anywhere else because we couldn’t guarantee no one was listening. We couldn’t guarantee it within our rooms either but somehow it felt safer.
Safer? It was funny because Fae had been our ally for a long time. It was strange that I had started thinking of them as the enemy. And I wasn’t sure when it had begun to happen. When Gabe had turned up on earth and made my sister fall in love with, years before the foretold time I had known deep down that things would get tricky. Hell, everyone had said how bad it was going to get but I hadn’t thought it would be this bad.
