“Thank you,” I took the seat offered me with a wide smile that belied how nervous I was. At least I hoped I wasn’t hiding it. I didn’t think so because both Gabriel and king Lincoln smiled at me warmly. And I basked under their smiles. It was like sunshine on my face after being locked up for so long. “You have a lovely home.” I added with a smile to the woman who was sat next to Lincoln. She was human as far as I could see but she didn’t look a day over thirty. Just like earth, when a human tied themselves to a dragon their life span matched their mates. She wouldn’t age as long as Lincoln was at her side.
She was staring at me intently and it wasn’t exactly a friendly look. My smile faded to nothing. Maybe I had been staring at her husband and son a little to long.
