CHAPTER SIX Not long after that, Anna found a reason to worry. She had finally been given a copy of the carnival’s schedule and looked it over. Most towns were preset on the circuit that the carnival traveled. What she found in the schedule was not good. The carnival had been almost to the halfway point in its circuit, which was more or less a circle, when she had first joined. She hadn’t known that at the time of course. There had been six towns to go before the carnival would hit the turnaround point and head back toward home. Now, there were none. The next town on the circuit would be on the return track to where this had all started, at least for her.
