CHAPTER TWO Blake Cavanaugh watched from his office door as Andrew led Anna away toward the bunkhouse trailers. He had gotten up when they started off and now leaned against the door frame. He had been able to tell she was upset and scared. Given a guess he would have said she was a runaway, but she was too old for that. Unless she was running from a loveless marriage, or maybe an abusive husband, but no, that couldn’t be it. He hadn’t seen a ring on her finger nor a mark where one had once been.
