Reflections

...walking around, wearing that smile that she cannot feel; something that everyone wants. She talks, but no sound comes out. Encased in a glass box. On display for all to gawk at, that pretty face that everyone wants. She walks to the balcony; looking for the moon. A tear runs down her cheek; letting out a scream. No one even seems to notice. She walks back to the ballroom, as the colors dance angrily over everyone. She clinches her fist tightly; blood dripping down upon the end of her dress. She starts to throw things from the tables; everyone remaining unphased. She picks up a large bat and walks towards the center of the ballroom. Tears begin to fall, like the storms over the oceans. She lets out another scream and starts to swing. Hitting each person; they shatter into thousands of pieces. As only one person remains, she lets out a scream and swings towards him. He raises his left hand and catches the end of the bat. A silence takes her trembling lips, as she lets the bat go and begins to step backwards. Holding her head; claws begin to rip and pull at her dress and skin. Her dress torn to shreds and blood seeps from the wounds. She drops to her knees, face buried in her hands. He walks to her and kneels down. He lifts her chin; her eyes full of tears as their eyes meet. He hands her a cracked mirror. She looks upon her reflection, not knowing what she sees. Something feels familiar, but is it out of her reach? She touches the cracked mirror. She takes a deep breath and watches as the cracks slowly begin to heal. The glow of the moon shines upon her through the broken windows. She closes her eyes as she feels the light enter her body. She releases her breath and slowly begins to open her eyes. Everyone is dancing and moving to the music. She looks up and there he is, holding out his hand for hers. She places her hand upon his and comes to her feet. He pulls her close and begins to dance. She looks upon his face, only to see the cracks like the mirror had upon its surface. She looks around at everyone. As they all stare at her, they fall to pieces; Leaving her to stand alone. Only to be left holding the mirror with her broken reflection...
