ISLA ~•~ By the time I got home, the sun was starting to set. During the entire ride back home, I kept replaying the way Sophia walked away from me like I didn’t exist. I told myself that I didn’t care. I told myself it was for the best but deep down, I was mad. Mad at her for not talking to me about what she saw. Mad at myself for letting her into Lorenzo’s home. Especially mad at Lorenzo for… well, everything. When I stepped into the training room, he was already there. He was in a black t-shirt, paired with black joggers. He was testing his aim with a throwing knife, hitting the target at the other end of the room with lazy precision. He didn’t look up when I entered. Instead, he threw another knife just as nonchalantly as the last. It hit the middle of the target. “You’re late.”
