ISLA ~•~ Sleep evaded me that night. I hated it. His words weighed down on me so that every time I closed my eyes, my mind replayed that conversation. His tone, the way his gaze darkened when he said he wanted me. He hadn’t even hesitated. I had thought anger would burn the memory away but it didn’t. It made it worse. It bothered me. By the time dawn came, I gave up trying to sleep. My head was heavy but my chest was worse. I couldn’t tell the difference between anger, confusion, and attraction anymore.
