Marguerite’s worried voice snaps me from my grim thoughts, but it’s not enough to reduce the desolating sensation in me. Her eyes blink faster than normal as her hands tenderly hold my face.
“Did you lose Ash, so I can now have my wolf?” she asks.
My eyes mimic hers.
I don’t want her to blame herself for what happened to me. It’s all my fault and nobody is to blame here except me.
