MARGUERITE’S POV: Shafts of fear shoot up and down my spine and stab my flesh in all directions, causing my body to judder and my eyes to blink multiple times. I underestimate the circumstances so much so that I might be paying the price sooner than I could ever imagine. During the first round of the competition, the possibility that there might be a thorough background investigation to find out whether the participants were lying or not crossed my mind, but to actually hear that it’s really gonna happen frightens me. Being exposed that I lied in some of the questions asked by the judges is just a tiny fracture of my fear.
