-“I can still hear her pulse!”- Ash’s yell commands me to lay my ear on top of Marguerite’s chest. Then, a tidal wave of hope floods me when I hear slow and irregular heartbeats. She’s still alive! I attempt to stand up with Margueirte in my arms, but before I can straighten my knees, they flump back to the ground, earning a hiss from me. My wounded, bleeding arms and legs excruciatingly throb, paralyzing my entire body from moving. Darn it! I gotta move! I need to save Marguerite while I still have the chance! With nothing in mind but Marguerite’s survival, my determination surpasses the harrowing pain that’s vibrating on all of my wounds.
