Brandon looked at his mother who was leaning on the person who stabbed her a multiple times with a kitchen knife. He wanted to badly throw this woman out of the window but he knew that it was not time yet. Someone was responsible for his father's death and he had to find out who it was. This woman is the only clue he has right now.
They didn't just want their properties but to wipe out every single thing his father built from the earth.Sadly, he realised that too late. He wondered why God returned him back to when his father had just died. If only he was reborn a week earlier. He was about to go upstairs when he saw his so called grandfather walk downstairs.
He paused before putting on a sad smile on his face. He looked back at his mother with a contemplative look. This person is his maternal grandfather, the one responsible for his grandfather 's death. His grandfather clad in black mourning clothes followed behind him.
The only regret he had in his past life was not being able to safe his grandfather. This man in front of him was one of the people who like a vampire, took away most of his mother 's assets and left them in the dust. He was also the one who sent him to that place a year later.
That is where he met Melissa. He wonders how she'll react when she sees the letter. He knew more information about that place than she did and he needs to protect her from those people. They won't stop at nothing until they get what they wanted. He and she were already on their list by now.
" Afternoon grandfather. " He said to the old man in front of him.
" Afternoon Brandon. I am so sorry for your loss. I hope the news didn't disrupt your exams. " Old man Drew said with a smile.
" No they did not. I only found out this morning and rushed here as soon as I heard. The exams ended a few days ago. I was filling in my college application when i heard. " He said with a sad smile.
" Really. ? " Old man Drew said with a raised eyebrow. A frown appears where nobody could see but Brandon saw it.
" I forbade everyone from telling him. My son, his father, asked us to do that on his last breath. I just couldn't. Brandon is impulsive and would have left everything if he knew that his father had met with an accident. " His grandfather said.
" I understand. It must have been tough on him. Not being able to say goodbye. " Old man Drew said with a sad smile.
" I'll go freshen up. I haven't taken a shower in the last few hours. I'll come accompany you guys in a while. Please excuse me. " Brandon said while wiping unshed tears. If anyone was close to him, they would smell that distinctive smell of onion on his hands.
" Go on. We don't need you to accompany us. Just take your time. " His grandfather said. Old man Drew said nothing.
" That kid is strong. " Brandon overhead his uncle say downstairs.
" He's just putting on a brave front. He'll probably breakdown as soon as he gets to his room. He's now his mother 's main support system, so he needs to be strong. " Old man Drew said making the old man frown. Even though his third son is dead, they wouldn't neglect his daughter in law and grandson.
" Dad, the autopsy is complete. We have arranged for the funeral to be tomorrow. " Raymond, Brandon 's first uncle.
" What did it say? " Old man White asked shaking.
" The accident was too severe. He died because of the blow he received on the head and due to internal bleeding, the doctors weren't able to revive him in time. I've already contacted the police and they said that the other man is also dead. they found alcohol in his system. " Raymond said with a sigh as he moved to hold his father's hands.
He didn't feel much for his dead brother. They never got along from the start and thank god his father wasn't bewitched by the mother and son or else his position as the family head would be compromised. Right now, he's eying the shares his brother had. He needs to know the contact of his brother's Will before anyone else does. But that lawyer is a hard nut to c***k.
" Oh my god. " Gina, Brandon 's mother broke down crying.
" Go ahead and arrange the funeral. I'll be in the study. " Old man White said looking like he had aged ten years in a minute. Everyone knew that he was biased towards his youngest son. So they just kept quiet.
The next morning
Brandon stood at the door welcoming his relatives and guests into the funeral home. He kept a neutral face making everyone unable to understand what he was feeling at that moment. He then proceeded to his mother 's side when it came time for the service to start.
Everyone said wonderful things about his father and ironically, his best friend and childhood friends were there. He saw the look of sadness in his best friend 's eyes as he looked at his father 's picture. If it wasn't because of knowing about his background, he would genuinely believed him. What a great actor he was.
Dahlia was sitting next to him looking demure. He felt disgusted inside but he knew that it wasn't time. For the sake of his mother, he will give her a chance and if she decides to go through the same choices as she did in his last life, he will just stand by and watch.
She is a ticking time bomb and he wants nothing that can put his relationship with Mel in jeapody out of the way. He walked to the stage and read his father's obituary. Everyone was so emotional except some and he could see the joy in his eldest uncle and a frown on second uncle Andrew.
His aunt was dressed to the Niles as if she was at a fancy red carpet event. They went to the cemetery and buried him. He stayed behind when everyone left. Dahlia wanted to stay behind but he sent her back with the excuse of wanting to be alone for a while. He looked at his father's gravestone with a faint smile.
He knew what awaited him when he returned back to the White resident. The fact about his father having illegitimate children was found when the Will was read. He didn't want to know who they were and didn't suspect a thing when his best friend 's lifestyle started changing. He just thought that his parents were promoted hence the livish lifestyle.
His father had a total of 10 billion in assets. He left 50% of it to his mother. That included houses, cars , jewellery and all his shares in the real estate company they started together. He was left with 25 % of the assets which included a villa and an apartment complex near his dream school, 5% shares in the White Group.
The remaining shares was to be shared between his five illegitimate children. Nobody knows that there is a clause that if Brandon were to accept them , he will receive a mansion in the countryside and a vineyard in Latia country. As long as he allowed the will to be read in front of the whole family and he personally gives each child their share of inheritance. If he chooses not to give each child the inheritance if and when the child is 18. The said properties will be auctioned and the money donated to charity.
What his father left his five siblings was only money and one property each. All apartments in the city centre. He had given up the mansion and vineyard because of his mother. But he won't do it this time. Something tells him that he'll find all the clues and answers at the mansion in the countryside.
His father was a notorious playboy growing up and it was only after his death that he found out about it. His mother brainwashed by old man Drew thought that he could control his father by being a dutiful wife. And he was oblivious to everything from the start. Well protected by his grandfather who took care of him from a young age.
His hands were shaking as he held the staring wheel. He drove slowly and reached the residence in a short while. Most of the guests had left leaving behind some relatives who looked forward to seeing drama. His uncles probably had something to do with it.
Thank god he's already 18 or else he would be sold by them again without knowing anything. He would won't be naive in this life. He took a bottle of water and took a sip as his mother motioned to him to come over. He looked around and noticed that there were over forty people inside. Both his paternal and maternal relatives.
Even some of his cousins were there. It seems Sebastian talked to his mother who shared it. His mother wouldn't let go of anything related to money.
" Young Master Drew." The lawyer next to his mother greeted with a smile and a raised eyebrow.
" Lawyer Blue. It's nice to meet you. I didn't know of your arrival. " He said.
" I just arrived and i was there for the service. You were occupied. " Lawyer Blue said.
" Ah, let's go to the dinning room. It's a bit crowded here. " Brandon said purposely.
" There is no need. Everyone is family here. " His eldest aunt interjected.
" Excuse me? " Brandon asked.
" Boy, you know that your uncle can't keep a secret. Maybe one of us is the mentioned five people. " Sebastian said as if he was tell a joke of the year.
" Is that so? " He asked.
" Just read the damn Will so we can all go home!! " Gloria White, his youngest aunt said.
" Okay but I am afraid that only my mother and his children are mentioned. " Brandon said.
" What children? " Old man Drew asked quickly.
" Oh , i got a copy of the Will this morning and the only reason why lawyer Blue is here is to hand me the things my mother and his illegitimate children will receive. Father made it clear in his written and recorded Will that i shall be the executor of his estate. Don't worry, you know some of them and one of my half sibling is already here. " Brandon said nonchalantly as he took two envelopes from the lawyer. He gave his mother who was frozen an envelope of all her inheritance and walked to the end of room where his cousin was sitted.
" What's the meaning of this? " Eldest uncle asked watching Brandon give his second daughter an envelope.
" Oh, that envelopes contains the amount of money, house etc that Libby will receive from her deceased father. I've already received her DNA results that my father did when she was born. Mom, Libby, since there is still two more siblings who are adults, i need to send them the list before the end of the day. You can come to the lawyer 's office with me tomorrow to claim your inheritance. The other child is a new born and will only ever receive his when he turns 18. Besides the five, father made sure there is no one else left outside. " He said. Everyone went quite.
