CHAPTER SIX- 8 -THORIN- I paid no attention to their comments and turned to look at the woman. She seemed strangely familiar, and then it clicked. It was Severa Greymane, and an old friend from school. When I transferred, I struggled to communicate with others because my English skills were still developing. But Severa, who happened to speak Spanish, quickly became one of my few friends. She even helped me improve my English speaking abilities. "Severa," I mumbled worriedly. "Are you okay?" Her eyes were brimming with tears, and she nodded. Seeing her now, a victim to Boris's merciless grip, filled me with a renewed resolve. I turned back to Boris, my icy gaze meeting his heated one. "How dare you treat Severa like this? Not only did you date her back in school, but you cheated on her!" Boris laughed, a harsh sound that grated on my nerves. "That was in the past, Thorin?" He looked at Severa dismissively, his lips curling with disdain. "I want her back now, so I will have her." Rage boiled inside me. "Did you do the same thing to Wilhelmina?" I snarled. "Did you manipulate her into marriage too?" Boris flashed a grin. "I wouldn't exactly say I manipulated her," he said. "It was more like persuasion, using my Alpha's Order, so she didn't have much of a choice." My blood boiled at his words. "Using your Alpha's Order to force a woman into marriage is manipulation, Boris," I spat. I could feel my wolf clawing at my insides, eager to rip him apart for what he had done. Severa clung tighter to the back of my shirt, her trembling frame further fueling my wrath. Her silent plea for protection was louder than any words could be, and further fueled my wrath. "Release her from your claim," I ground out, my voice a low growl. "You cannot command the Alpha! No one has the authority to command the Alpha!" Elder Greymane's voice boomed with anger. Matus couldn't contain his anger any longer. "How can you just sit there, Father, and watch as your granddaughter is forced to marry an incompetent boy?!" He marched over to Elder Greymane, his voice shaking with anger. Elder Greymane retorted, You have no right to speak to me in such a manner, boy! You are no longer the Delta, and therefore, have no right to speak to me however you please." Parella's voice was filled with anger as she exclaimed, "Matus is still your son and Severa is your granddaughter! Yet you continue to treat them both with such disregard. If anyone deserves to be talked down to, it's you!" The Luna Mother scoffed, "Don't even start, Parella. The only reason you're here is because of your family's history as Oracles in your country. Matus deserves someone far more capable than you." Parella's anger grew more evident as her accent became more pronounced. "Who do you think you're talking to, Trisha?" she growled. "It seems that you have conveniently forgotten that you only became Leon's wife because you manipulated him into leaving his fated mate. And who was it that helped him find her in the first place? Me, that's who!" The Luna Mother was not deterred. "Your insolence is unacceptable! You are nothing compared to me!" Parella folded her arms over her chest. "The way you raised your son is unacceptable." she retorted. "One would expect you, as the former Luna, to raise your children in a better manner. It's disappointing that you didn't put effort into raising Eris, and poor Hiro was practically ignored altogether." The Luna Mother's face contorted in rage, her hands clenched at the insult. "You dare speak about my children? You, who couldn't even provide Matus with a male heir until it was too late, and even then the poor boy was born with partial blindness." Parella shot back, her eyes ablaze. "At least all my children love me and don't use every excuse to avoid me." The Luna Mother growled, her eyes flashing with malice. An argument erupted between Matus and Elder Greymane, followed by Parella and the Luna Mother. Boris glared at me, clearly frustrated. "Look what your interruption has caused," he scolded. "If you had just let our meeting continue without interruption, this wouldn't have happened." I shrugged, unapologetic. "I honestly couldn't care less about the consequences," I rolled my eyes. "I wasn't going to stand by and let you force another woman into a marriage. Now, release your claim on Severa now." "Or else what, Thorin?" Boris returned, his voice full of mockery. The smirk that sat on his face did nothing to ease my fury. He didn't believe that I would dare challenge him. Taking a step forward, I stared into his eyes with an intensity that surprised even me, "Or else you won't see another sunrise." Boris' smirk faltered for the first time, but he quickly recovered, scoffing lightly. "You dare to threaten me?" He asked incredulously, his eyes flashing dangerously as he took a step closer. "Yes," I growled back without hesitation, my eyes never leaving his.
