Chapter One * Morning glory *

840 Words
Waking up in the morning was always something I dislike intensely in life. If there is one thing I love doing; that will be having a sound sleep. But I never knew destiny will put me in the hamper of my sleep>. Today is Monday another day of tedious work, well I can still say mine is better, for the fact that I am a field agent. Yeah a field agent. What I like most in my career is that part when my chief calls my name "Agent Walter!" I personally don't know why I have a good feeling hearing those words, perhaps it's because am a noob in the profession. As usual on a normal Monday; I took a shower about 4am and then into the kitchen for a light breakfast. Living as a bachelor has a lot of impact on lazy beings like me. For i often find cooking more tasking than my career. Getting into the kitchen I made a light tea and ate some slices of bread. While sitting on the dinning, I just got a flashback of my bygones, once it was hard for my family to eat thrice a day, but here I am with plentiful that am even finding it challenging to cook. My papa labored as a driver at one of the public cooperation and momma was a seamstress. Due to our financial state; they decided not to give me a younger one, so I was stubborn and lazy being the only myango. May their souls rest in peace. I lost them both to cholera. Well that's by the way, I can't start a Monday with a bad mood. In life no matter what happens always be positive; that's what my momma used to tell me. I put on my black suit and fixed my black tie, put on my black leather shoes looking like one of the legendary leading role in the James bond series; well I usually feel like am a factual one though! I collected my M9 pistol from the safe shelf and grab my car keys. Coming out from my humble apartment; it was 6am and the sun was just rising with a proud self effacing smile and I have a feeling it's going to be a great day. I went to the garage; while trying to pull up the gate way I noticed a little white creature at the side of it. Moving closer and I realize it was a little kitten with body all drenched with water. As a good man I felt pity for the poor thing, so I took her to a few metres near my neighbors gate where I dump her. "sorry little white thing I got no little time for myself not to talk of little things like you, so just sit here maybe the fat lady might find you worthy of her kindness" I said while dumping her. I went back to the garage and drove out my super car, which has been upgraded to my specification by a local auto shop run by my child hood buddy. It's a sweat ride for any agent like me. A ride to my station is about 20 minutes but with my bee model, I always beat the time by 3 minutes. Today looks promising I said to myself considering the smiles on many faces as I drove by to my station. But it wasn't favourable for me I guess. I got to my station with a big smile on my dark handsome face > we were 30 agents in the department: one chief , two sub chiefs , two operators and the rest including myself were all rifle men without any job except to face encounters. Sitting on my chair; all set to take a little morning coffee sip, I got a call from the chief's office. ASAP I dropped down my mug cup and dashed in the direction of his office.
