BRIAR’S POV Sebastian’s deal is the last thing on my mind as I lay on my bed. Before I know it, I fall asleep and tumble into the dream world. The moment I’m there, I know I’m dreaming—walking on a frozen lake, the world around me a blank canvas of white snow. I wander aimlessly, feeling lost, until I step into a puddle of black tar beneath my feet. It’s wet and sticky, and the second I try to step away, it pulls me back. I struggle for a while, trying to break free, but the tar drags me down like quicksand, spreading over my body like pitch-black hands.
