Chapter 11 Unlucky Me

Jessica's P.O.V

It's been a few weeks since my birthday which I still think was the best day of my life so far anyway. Today I woke up to water being dumped on me by none other than my one, my only, sister.

"Juliet what the hell is wrong with you, what was that for." I yell at her furiously.

"That was to get your lazy ass out of bed, because I for one do not want to be late. So get up." She says before walking out of my room.

Why do I get the feeling I am going to regret everything I do today. 

As soon as I stepped out of bed I stubbed my baby toe on my bed frame. Then as I walked into my closet I but when I tried opening the door it got jammed I tried again but fell on my butt flat on the floor. So I just went to Julie's closet to borrow something from her.

I ended up borrowing a pink skirt that reached my mid thigh, a blue shirt, a pair of converse, and a jean jacket.

As soon as I got down stairs I  noticed I was even late now, and Juliet left without me. So instead of just ditching school I went back to my room, reached under my bed and grabbed my skateboard and my elbow and knee pads along with my plain teal helmet then ran downstairs and out the door skating over to my school.

By the time I reached school I had already missed all of my first class. So I went straight to my second class skating through the halls until I reached the elevator. Once the doors opened I quickly skated into my second class that I'm supposed to go to. 

I ended up skating straight through the door before coming to an abrupt stop in front of the teacher, who was in the middle of the lesson. 

"Miss Maverick need I remind you that there is to be no skateboarding inside of the school." He says before pointing to a seat so I go to sit down right by the one person in the class smiling at my arrival the one, the only Alexander Cruz.

He didn't speak to me just smiled causing me to give him one in return. I just sat down and started listening to the teacher.

As soon as class was over I started to pick up all my stuff then made my way to my next class trying my hardest not to be late, again. Once I  had  gotten to the doorway of my next class I heard a familiar voice scream my name, and no not like that you nasty weirdo. So I turned around to see who was yelling for me. Only to see one of my friends Alan standing there  catching his breath, so he could speak.

"Jessica, omg there you are finally." He states while breathing harshly.

I'm pretty sure I've been here a while, but he looks a little too out of breath to deal with my sarcasm, so perhaps next time.

"Yeah if this doesn't go a little bit faster, I'm gonna be late for class, and umm I already missed a whole class so I can't afford to miss anymore. So try and speed this conversation along Alan." I say itching to get to class.

"It's Kate, we have to go to the hospital, something happened."

After quickly leaving the school Alan and I finally arrived at the hospital, so I dashed inside to the secretary's desk.

"My friend Kate is here, where is she." I got the words out, not even letting her respond Alan quickly pulled me into a hospital room. I looked over towards the window, only to see Kate laying there in a hospital bed, covered in bandages. Her wounds from what I could tell at least looked pretty severe, I just hope they weren't as bad as they looked.
