The next morning the king was discussing with Captain Chayn commander of some of his regiments, soon the doors were pushed open and two guards marched in.
"Why the hell did you burst in here like that?" The King yelled at them.
"We are sorry your majesty" One of the guards bowed.
"How the hell is the king supposed to have his privacy if you keep being sorry?"
"Princess Hilda is no where to be found your majesty"
"What?" The king started "Have you really checked around perhaps she is in some place sulking by herself"
"We have checked everywhere, No sign of her, and we think she has the royal seal" The guard said "It is no longer in its place"
The King stood up and stared at the ceiling. This is the end of it, the end of game. The girl was messing up plans too fine for him and with this singular move, she is seeming unstoppable. The royal seal was a symbol of kingship and no true monarch reigns with out it or he dies. She must'nt be allowed to get to her destination for if that happens, he may lose his head and the crown. There was that gleam in her eyes that assures him she meant her words when she said she was coming for her father's throne. His life was at stake and he wouldn't toy with that fact "Chayn!" He called suddenly.
"At your service your majesty"
"Take the best men with you and go after her. She must not make it out of this kingdom"
"Very well understood your majesty" Captain Chayn bowed.
The captain left with the most able bodied men and went in search of Princess Hilda, after four days they came back and asked to see the kin
The king was informed of their presence and he hurriedly came out "Tell me you saw her" The King said as he took quick strides towards them.
"On the contrary your majesty" Captain Chayn said with his face to floor "We lost her"
"What do you mean you lost her? Is that how you do? Boast about incompetence? How the hell should a girl be tough for you to find?"
"We are sorry your majesty, but we did our best. Followed her trails, outside the kingdom and into the Forest of Pain"
The king smacked his palms into his face "Forest of Pain and you came back to tell me? Instead of following her"
Captain Chayn and his men exchanged glances "That's the most dangerous place for any human being, no one survives there even the girl may die and we may not be able to save her anymore"
"Save? Who is interested in her survival?"
"Then she is in the right place for her to die" Captain Chayn said in a tone of finality.
"No!" The King made to grasp empty air "I want evidence of her death. Go after her and kill her your selves"
"In that case you don't want any of us alive. How can we get to her when we don't know our around there?"
"Find someone who knows" The king paced quickly and flung one of the windows open "Out there, there must be some one who knows that forest so well. Find him or her. My own life is at stake"
"I know someone who knows that place well" One of Captain Chayn's men said "They call him the vagabond, he is a very skilled fighter one of the best archers you can get around but he hardly stays home. Stories of him has it that he fought against wild animals with his bare hands"
"Now we are not going against wild animals, we are going against spirits and demons, that's what is in the forest of pain" Captain Chayn said in an attempt to shun him.
"Well he has history on that" The man defended "He was the one that forced Masuk the spirit of locusts and gnats into a cave"
"Oh that's not a fine qualification" Captain Chayn blurted but was interrupted by the king.
"Oh Captain! You are not smuggling your way out of this, find this man and bring him to me"
"Your majesty, we will do all we can" Captain Chayn bowed reluctantly while eying the man disdainfully.
