Chapter 2: Three Years Later

206 Words
Three years. That was how long it took for Aria to rebuild her life. From a broken woman in a courtroom, she became the CEO of Azure Group. A billion-dollar company that she built with her own two hands. She also had a daughter. Little Emma. 2 years old. With Damian's eyes. Tonight was the biggest business gala of the year. All the CEOs in the country would be there. Aria walked in wearing a red gown. Confident. Powerful. No one would ever guess that 3 years ago she was crying in a courtroom. And then she saw him. Damian. He was standing by the bar, still in his black suit. Still cold. Still ruthless. But his eyes... his eyes were locked on her. "Ms. Carter," his assistant said behind her. "Mr. Reyes would like to speak with you." Aria smiled coldly. Mr. Reyes. Her ex-husband. "Tell Mr. Reyes," Aria said without looking back. "That I'm busy." Her heart was beating so fast. Three years and he still had this effect on her. But she was not that broken girl anymore. Aria lifted her chin higher and walked straight to the dance floor. She was CEO Aria Carter now. And Mr. Reyes meant nothing to her.
