I stood in the center of the training field, sweat sliding down my forehead. The morning light was faint, and the air was filled with the damp scent of grass. The soldiers were neatly arranged in formation, their movements sharp and precise. My cold gaze swept over them, as sharp as a blade. The rhythmic sound of footsteps echoed across the training field. Out of the corner of my eye, I caught a glimpse of the distant watchtower. Sean was standing beneath it, arms crossed, staring intently at me. He had been there for quite a while.
