Jackie groaned and pushed herself up again with her lip split. Bridget spat dirt and Kera’s eyes burned. They exchanged glances, unspoken agreement and then all three came at me at once. I barely dodged Bridget’s swing when Kera’s fist slammed into my side. Pain bloomed sharp, followed by another blow to my jaw from Jackie. My vision blurred for a heartbeat as I stumbled back, tasting blood. “Thought you were tough, huh?” Kera sneered, circling me. “Little freak thinks she can take us,” Bridget spat, wiping blood from her mouth. “Let’s see that confidence now,” Jackie added with a cruel smirk.
