CHAPTER EIGHT Sadie followed Detective Linden into the bus station, already sensing that he intended to take the lead on this part of the investigation and having already decided to let him. Linden knew the city center better than she did, and he had been what she expected was uncharacteristically quiet when they had questioned Vicky’s roommates. This time there were just the two of them. As they had passed the police station on the way, O’Hara had gotten out of the police truck to take the laptop in to be looked at by forensics and to go over Roxie’s file again, comparing it to what they now knew of Vicky. Sadie wanted more time to study it again herself and had almost reluctantly handed it over to O’Hara, but she knew that she had to let the eager rookie agent have some responsibility
