CHAPTER FOURTEEN Sadie’s eyes jolted open at the sudden, piercing noise. A woman was screaming loudly, and it was a sound of pure terror that momentarily froze Sadie’s blood in her veins. Without stopping to think, Sadie rushed out of the vehicle and toward the house, her hand on the butt of her pistol, ready to draw. As she reached the front door, she only vaguely registered the fact that she should be surprised that the door was ajar. Instead, she shoved it open, running inside, then stopping dead when she realized that she wasn’t inside Westwood’s home at all.
