‘Will you be alright, Luna?’
Dimitri’s use of the title threw me for a moment. Before I could respond, however, Black’s hand was clenched around Dimitri’s throat. Dimitri made no attempt to try and pry it off but met his Alpha’s glare.
‘Careful, Beta, remember your place. She is my mate, and I will protect her.’ Black nearly spat in Dimitri’s face as he forced the words out.
‘I know my place, Alpha. I will protect our Luna with my life. She doesn’t know our ways. I know you won’t purposefully harm her, but let’s face it, she doesn’t know when to let things go.’ I should have been touched that Dimitri would protect me, but I was seething at his implication instead.
