Lucy had driven as fast as she could following Ron’s phone call, but it still took her an hour to reach Sassenden’s house, where Ron said he’d called from. Ron had not sounded like his typical easy-going self, which intrigued Lucy. What was the remarkable biologist Derrick Sassenden up to now? The man had what? at least ten patents and his name on fifty peer-reviewed papers. More than that. Truly remarkable for a man still in his thirties.
